Are you on a medical aid? I am just asking as your mother may be worried about finances. It is generally around R600 a session with a psychologist. I think if you need help, paying that much is worth the money. I do believe if you feel that you need help you need to get it, but that may be why your mom is not encouraging you to see someone. I know that when I was a teenager my mom would never have been able to afford it.

My mother didn't believe in medication or counselling. It's been a long road to get to where I am now. My son needed a psychiatrist and I was the first person to book him in, knowing what I went through could've been prevented.

I am not sure where in South Africa you are or your family financial situation. If you think finances may be a problem maybe you could discuss that with your mom, she may be able to make a plan, for example going to a University counseling program with interns or something like that. My son is in therapy but I have friends who cannot afford therapy for their kids even though the school has recommended they see a psychologist. Your school counselor may know of different options though. Don't give up, speak to your mom again if you are able.

I will first try to phone the place I know of and ask about costs, then maybe my counselor can help? >.< Or something like that.. I know I need help, and I don't want to give up because of money /:
