After telling my T this week that I used thought of her to sooth myself I had a lovely experience yesterday. I started to think of a friend and felt that same lovely warm glow that I feel when I think of T.
In my past I've always had felt as if I was desperate to find a "mother figure". Be it at work or where ever. I just felt alone and afraid and unloved. Now I am able to "let in" these feelings from the appropriate people in my life, ie friends and immediate family, I am no longer attaching to everyone. Before I had no idea of who meant something to me or who didn't. I was like a piece of paper being thrown around in the wind and just waiting to stop and hopefully someone would be there. Sometimes this would lead me into unhealthy friendships because I didnt understand. It seems T is right, I wont always "need" her, but I'll always be grateful to her for helping me become "reborn" :-) |

Thats so good that you were able to talk to her about it, and have also found another was of soothing yourself. That is a HUGE accomplishment. ![]() Jacq

That's so wonderful, Mouse. I had a similar experience with "touching" where I was afraid to touch/be touched and had an experience that changed that. It is nice (and a bit shocking) to realize who you like and who's good for you and who isn't; who you don't care so much about.

I recently started using my T for comfort. I have discovered what i have been missing my whole life. emotional connection. I find that with my T. I have a lot of trouble sleeping at night. I think i don't feel safe for some reason. I bought a small smileyfacs stuffed animal and took it to my session last week. I had her spray it with the body spray she uses so that i can remember her smell throught the week. I know that sounds wierd or dumb but it works
