Hi
I see you just posted. We are truly in the same boat. You know many ways to stop the hurt inside?? Please clue me in. I'm with you! I want relief too! And you have lots & lots of ideas flying around in your head!! Divulge PLEASE! You're right, I'm not going to tell you it's not soothing, but does it really stop the hurt that's beating me up on the inside or will I have to eventuallly have to face the hurt & pain AGAIN? Looking over the scars on my body there's GOT to be a better way.Don't you agree??

Of course it's soothing - that's why we keep doing it. The only problem, is it doesn't really deal with the underlying feelings - just makes them go away for a while & has some potentially nasty side effects like the risk of infection and scarring.

I haven't cut in over 6 months though I want to every day because I'm finally learning to deal with emotions, even when they suck and are overwhelming.

You don't have to always hurt yourself to feel better.

Please don't hate yourself....I am sure that whatever is causing this hate inside you is something that can be overcome with time. I am sure that you will find the right path to choose and once you figure out your long term goal things will start looking up.

No cutting....remember 95!
