Damn, someone come and douse the flames and shut off the gas!!!
Literally these are the phone calls I just had while I was trying to wrangle a set of clothes and my freaked out cat in preparation of bailing out of my apartment!!!!

I had a hard time fighting panic. Everything is fine now but let's see if I sleep.
I was cooking and all of a sudden I couldn't turn off the stovetop!!! Then the knobs melted off my stove. Then the flame got to be a foot high. I hate hate hate natural gas.
How awful!

Keeping horses safe from fire must be nerve wracking. A panicky cat is one thing, but a horse? Vehicle fires are scary because of the gasoline too.

My dilemma with the gas fire: the flame was somewhat controlled but becoming more unmanageable. Wasn't sure if an all-out gas line leak was more of a danger? At the time I was not confident that I could move my stove or that moving it would cause a friction spark while I was right on top of the gas line. I'm still not sure if I did the right thing.
It sounds like a mains pressure problem. Did any of your neighbours have the same issue?

I'll have to google that! My neighbors haven't mentioned anything, then again I was cooking kind of later at night than usual.

I hate being so ignorant on how to safely use gas appliances. It definitely seemed freaky and out of the norm. Thanks for the tip!!!!!

This week I have been adding black strap molasses to my coffee. I go through phases where it really is my favorite thing to drink. Then it will fade out. The bullet coffee was fine, it just did not taste right in the morning. I missed my more regular tasting coffee.

I hate that (unless I was doing it in which case - I did not mean to). But I really do hate the know-it-allies. And sometimes (this is not something I am pleased to admit about myself) I respond even more know-it-ally when the original KIA gets something wrong.

Molasses in coffee sounds wonderful.

I read up on the bullet coffee and I think it would give me heart disease!!

I think the thing about bullet coffee is it is based on the idea that a low fat diet is not as healthy and does not prevent heart disease.

I am more careful about carbs and sugars than anything else in my diet. Bullet coffee seems great if you are otherwise balanced nutritionally. I am not there yet!

I am not pushing it - I did not notice any more energy and if anything, it made me more hungry by lunch - so I stopped. Molasses has a lot of iron and potassium and other things so perhaps I am craving it because of the nutrients.

Personally, SD, I have found that you use humble restraint, and are respectful of others' decisions and opinions, even if you don't agree with them. I appreciate that about you. (Don't worry, I won't try to hug you--I'll just worship you from afar. You know I'm teasing, right?)

The big surprise for me was that I did not find it awful. It did not taste like my usual delicious triple expresso, but the taste was not bad and from the ingredients, I had expected completely disgusting.

Thanks. It was an over reaction to something that will get fixed. It was a present and I was looking forward to it. It is not necessary for anything.
