the 'analysand' terminology amuses me. maybe because psychoanalytic therapists need to undergo a course of analysis themselves during their training and often undergo another course while they are practicing.

i guess they don't like thinking of themselves as 'clients' or 'consumers' or 'patients' lol

in aust there are changes that have been made and we are as professionals meant to call "patients" clients but the last couple years there is push to call us/them "consumers"
its all about the stigma attached to labels...
here its driven by consumer consultants who speak with consumers and advocate on their behalf in regards to a lot of things in the public health system

I guess it is wise to keep in the forefront of your mind:

This person is capable of suing my ***...

'Consumer' terminology gets me thinking of precisely that lol Clients vs. Patients
