Congrats Wiki!

SM - I hope the police station goes well for you.

Art - I'd enjoy the three day weekend too! Hope your husband's surgery goes well.

I have a mother mantra that MKAC taught me..

Sorry about the court and ex stuff.

My mom had that in December. She insisted she couldn't put her own drops in, but being the horrid daughter I am, I made her do it and said "See". lol If it was hubby I totally would help though

It is SNOWING SNOWING SNOWING again, and again. I haven't left the house since Friday. It's icky. We have drifts and piles much taller than I, we are getting a good 4-5 inches now, and then overnight it's 8-10".

YUCK!!!!! I am starting to forget what color the world is, because all I see is white.

this is not a hill. It is a big flat parking area with a shed.

Oh. Snow.
We had blue skies, sunshine, 10 degrees c here today. Buzzards circling in the thermals...
Sorry.
Cat, 5:2, you eat 500 calories for two days a week, then normally for the other five. I lost seven lbs in a month last time. It's great if you can stick it, I find diet coke is the way through!

Awww beautiful pup!

We get snow like that where I live... I can remember it being nearly at the top of our 6' fence... I hope you get some relief from the weather soon. It sucks to be stuck in the house. I had a couple weeks like that in November and I was going bat **** crazy.

Oh yikes. Is that healthy? lol I think I would starve. I lost 50lbs in 2009 by doing one where you eat your weight x 7 in calories and exercise. It came off in about 4-5 months. Sadly, I have had two kids in two years so I have 70lbs to lose now. Bah!

I just can't stop eating the junk. lol It is hard in the winter. In the summer I find it easier because there is so much delicious fruit to enjoy. Right now I am lucky if I can find grapes that taste nice. Every time I get a canteloupe it is hard and bland. Yuck!

Yeah, I like MKAC's thread suggestion. Feeling disgusted with a few PC threads these days. Trying to stay away.

Wow Mists of Avalon... It must be 20 years since I read it. I remember liking it.

In other news, I am not a completely rubbish teacher. I love the teaching high that comes after a successful lecture or seminar or workshop.

^ this is GOOD. My favorite point is:

"The next time you encounter a troll online, remember:

1. These trolls are some truly difficult people.

2. It is your suffering that brings them pleasure, so the best thing you can do is ignore them. "

Especially number 2. We can "get them back" so much better by ignoring. It's way to easy to get caught up in it though, isn't it?

I kept finding myself getting sucked in over and over for a while there. Now the one thread kind of makes me think it's like those 'no playing on wall' signs. We were on a family vacation one time and we were at an overlook. There was this wall at the edge of the overlook on this bluff. On the other side of of the wall was a sheer, straight drop down for a very long way. There was a sign telling people to stay off the wall but people were sitting and goofing around on the wall anyway. My S, who was about 6 at the time was outraged at the violation of the rules and didn't understand why someone didn't give those people a ticket or something. I explained it wasn't against the law to play on the wall, just very, very unwise, and the sign was there to say that. My son very huffily replied that the sign should not say 'no playing on wall' then. It should say, 'you're dumb if you play on the wall, and no whining about it when you fall off.' I pointed out that would not all fit on the sign, and he just hmmphed at me.

At this point, the more attention a person gets for playing on the wall, the more he or she is going to do it. The solution may be as simple as the solution for a tantruming toddler. Turn and walk away and ignore it.
Thanks for this!

no. I've learned to just not read posts by certain names. To complicated to put people on ignore.
