But it's still a hilarious analogy. My T would look right silly in leather. I'd pretty much rock it tho. (joking!joking!)

Now that made me giggle! I can totally see my t dressed head to toe in black leather. She always wears black anyway, so making it leather isn't much of a stretch. Uh oh. I'm now imagining another side to t. I kinda like it. Ha!!
Thanks for this!

I have to go to the mood clinic and explain why I can't go part of it is there is noone to pick th e girls up from school and second most importantly I hate hate hate group session. My anxiety hits the roof because the one and only group session I attended we were asked what kind of mothe r we would be as an animal, it came to my turn and I said I;d be a tiger as they are protective and strong and keep the babies protected. Before I could say all that the whole room turned against me and said tigers were savage and ripped things apart and were vicious. I was not even let a chance to explain. This is why I haete hate hate group session. Also they doing CBT which I have done for the past 20 years with various Ts.

Being in groups does bad things to a whole lot of acceptably reasonable individuals.

I don't think I could ever go to group. Especially one that required conversing or sharing in any way.

I enjoyed group. It was the only real family I ever had.

(((BPA)))
I've been to enough group sessions since I've been in the shelter to know how frustrating they can be as well as how amazing and validating they can be.
It only takes one mouthy snowflake to ruin it for everyone - I swear it's the same principle as a riot... You need a strong facilitator and/or the right mix of people for it to work.

LOL Shakey the mouthy snowflake thing cracked me up. Any group I've ever been in has had at least 1. And a weak leader makes it worse!

I didn't want to hijack a thread and none of my IRL friends would think this was funny as I did, so I'm sharing here.

It was noon, and I said, "...so I should go out to lunch (I was going to finish the sentence with a friend's name) when she quickly said, "should WE go out to lunch??" with such surprise that I laughed at her. I reassured her I didn't want to go to lunch with her and laughed all the way to the elevator.

I've gotten to the point where I can almost recognize them on sight
They're usually the rude ones who look down their nose at you and then complain about everyone being nasty to them. Um. Yeah. That...

I'm tired of this. And I finally started having good days... Then back to this... Except it's worse. Not as bad as Xmas break, but blah! Think I'm taking another header.

I had a couple groups I tried that just didn't click for me. But the last group I was in was an amazing experience. Probably one of the most beneficial therapy-related moves I ever made. Very strong therapists and a well-contructed, well-conceived group with members chosen specifically because of our commonalities. It kept every session relevant and helpful. The groups that didn't work seemed to have weaker therapists and no real commonality or cohesiveness in the group.
Thanks for this!

I cannot watch walking dead. Zombies walking around? Really?? What "character type" is that? The lovable curmudgeon? The plain but funny female sidekick? Ugh. You kids today! at least when i roll my eyes, they stay in my head!

Me neither. You couldn't pay me to do any form of group therapy.

I hated group therapy when I tried it years ago. Wondering if it would be different as an adult? Nah, maybe not.

I'm starting group in a couple of weeks. My t and her colleague are taking it and are great - lots of experience between them. All the members of the group have similar backgrounds and are of a similar age. I'll probably be the oldest, as it's a group for 'young' women. I think my t stretched it a bit to fit me in
