I was just sitting thinking about something yesterday that happened in T. I mean apart from the heavy "save me stuff" The lighter side of Therapy It was one of those silent moments, when outside came a police siren..I looked at T and said "They're coming for me?" The lighter side of Therapy T contiuned with her straight face until the siren stopped then she replied, "Yes and they do seem to have stopped right outside" The lighter side of Therapy

Haha. The lighter side of Therapy

I was sitting in therapy once and a car outside went by with its music blaring really loud. My therapist and I could both hear that it was playing the Doors song "Break on Through to the Other Side."

Perfect! The lighter side of Therapy

I had a dream that was significant at one point... haha..still is... It involved me in the audience wishing to get to the stage to pick a door for my future. There was a moat around the stage that had wolves keeping me from getting there. This dream touched me significantly. As I was leaving my neighborhood the next day waiting to get in to traffic, an ice cream truck came up behind me and I heard the familiar music from the truck (which connected me to my childhood in my mind) and surprising.. a new tune I had not heard from an ice cream truck.... "Who's afraid of the big bad wolf" being so innocently played in to my psyche.

Humour can make the ordeals we sometimes experience in our lives that much easier to handle.
I am a great believer in it.
Wouldn't life be incredibly boring and mundane without it?

I was raised in a home seriously dosed up on humour.
Appropriately placed, humour can be a great tension reliever.
I teach my kids the 'art' of having humour in their lives. It's one of the best health 'foods' around - part of a balanced (life) diet The lighter side of Therapy The lighter side of Therapy

My therapist once made a silly analogy about a situation I was in. The analogy was that I was walking through a pasture trying to avoid cow-pies (ew!).

I responded that I thought his analogy was very "deep."

We both had a good laugh.

Sidony, I once badly startled (with admiration :-) my group therapists by commenting that another, new member was "riding a unicycle down a road strewn with glass and hoping not to get a flat tire" :-) Pretty "sharp" huh? LOL
