This is week is going to be so busy for me and I am dealing with a lot of crap outside of work.. I hate having to make BIG decisions!

T told me on Friday that my son's T talked to him (I gave permission for them to talk) and she shared with him through all of the diagnostic tests and the interactions she has had with my son, that they are leaning towards an Autism Spectrum disorder for him. It is not at all surprising to me.. I mean we have been dealing with his issues, I am an Kindergarten teacher I see he doesn't operate the same way. However, it is still daunting thing to hear. We don't have an official dx which will have to be made by the Phd child psychologist in the office (son's t just master's level).. in two weeks H and I sit down with son's T and that is when we get the official dx. This kind throws a wrench in our plans for what I do next school year and where he goes to school etc. However, I am trying to hold of and talk to his T about it and see what she suggests as far as what kind of special help he may need in a school setting before we make decisions as far as what school he goes to in the fall... which also will probably decide if I work my current job next year or not. Ugh..

I would go with mexican. Pancakes always seem to turn to leaden balls of indigestion for me.

They made those crazy pancake wrapped sausages and put syrup on them - breakfast pigs in blankets. Completely grossed me out but I know people who love them.

My husband makes ultra thin pancakes -- just make the mix runnier with milk. Then you can use them to eat Mexican instead of tortillas.

I haven't even made it to work today. Just so depressed. I have not done dishes or laundry or anything really. The little railing on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator broke off. Debating in my head whether I am a genius or just white trash for fixing it with duct tape.

In terms of services an autism diagnosis is actually very useful. Your son will get everything he needs through the public school system. They'll evaluate him to determine the very best program for him and they will bus him regardless of where in the school district it is. It should actually make it easier for you to plan what you will do for the next school year because all his transportation will be taken care of. Make sure you get connected with your state's equivalent of the dept. of Developmental Disabilities so you can get hooked up with things like respite and after school care as well - you'll be able to get therapists (OT, speech, behavioralist etc.) to come to your home through them as well.
It's pretty daunting, but there's a lot of good services out there.

My life runs on duct tape and WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, apply duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, apply WD-40.

I can't get my adrenaline - or what ever chemical it is - to go down. I won a case this afternoon and I am still jacked up on high alert, take no prisoners, rip them apart on cross etc. Not the happy yea kind of jacked up (although I am relieved I did not screw it up and lose what was definitely a winnable case) but just jacked up and my back and neck are so tight I can hardly bend or twist.

congrats on the case and I hope you are able to figure out a way to calm down .maybe it is the lack of sleep causing you to become hyper .

I get the same thing, Stop. I have to get away from 'regular' humans for a while after. I go for a walk in my pasture and watch my young dog leaping over the tops of the tall grasses. My older dog stays with me and we just walk and look at things.
Thanks for this!

I think the insomnia this past week was fear of screwing this one up.

SD you need a release, whether through exercise or skydiving or sex or yelling at kids to get off your lawn. Couch 92 Found my shoe

Insomnia and hyper-vigilance and never ending adrenaline rush, anxiety overload. Do you have a reliable anxiety-relief-activity? DD1 is supposed to do meditation or yoga, but it's too sedentary so she runs instead.

Add lard and C4, and you could be Jaimee Hyneman.
