I feel awful - my face throbs, throat hurts, fever, etc. I usually sleep except for walking the dogs or teaching or court. I drink a lot of apple cider vinegar with cayenne and honey and lemon.

My mother had NPD and so did an ex-boyfriend I spent over a freaking decade with. People who have NPD really ARE black holes. I feel your pain, truly.

I don't know what is going around ! I am running out of cough syrup, cold meds etc. ….almost out of ginger tea too!!!

I did find some leftover prednisone which works wonders on the lung irritations. Dr would not approve but I saved this stash for moments like these!

Hope you feel better stopdog!!!

Thanks GC - but I am well now. I had the crud a few weeks ago. My post was describing to hankster why I don't call mds.

I hope you feel better. I like to use raw honey with cayenne for coughing. And I totally believe in stashes.

Doh! I read that as NYPD. I thought you'd read a book trashing the NY Police Department and were upset because you had worked there.

This week has flown by, I can't believe tomorrow is Friday already. Yay! I've been on a project at work all week, and that makes the days go by fast. Tomorrow I have a 2.5 hour meeting with a guest speaker so that will break up the day nicely! I made it through the entire day at work without taking any cold medicine, so I think I'm on the mend! And I'll be going to a labyrinth walk this weekend for the full moon, can't wait for that. And then next weekend I get to see t again (finally!)

It is a bit hard to believe it is friday already. But time is always off for me once finals start - the lack of a teaching schedule throws me off for a few weeks.

Okay I'm like all over the threads commenting here and there way more than I usually do and I think I better just stop it now and go to bed. I'm feeling way too chatty and share-y if that's a word tonight. Goodnight couch! (or good morning!)

So I'm curious what ya'all think. My h and I have an ongoing argument (I've never engaged in those much, have always avoided conflict until lately since I'm so much stronger in myself I seem to be getting into more of them lol) anyway he got a $60 parking ticket for parking in a delivery zone. He works as a delivery driver and was making a delivery BUT - he uses his private vehicle, not a commercial one, and he doesn't even have commercial insurance, just our private insurance, is a contractor, not even an employee of the company he works for, and the only "sign" he has in the vehicle is a glasses-cleaning cloth with the name of the company on it that he laminated and puts in the dashboard. He refuses to pay it and asked for a court date to fight it. I think he is NUTS and I told him so. I think he's going to end up losing an entire day of pay while he's at court, will have to pay the fine, and court costs besides, and I'm also concerned this is going to open up a can of worms that will force him and all the other contractors to have to start paying commercial insurance, etc etc. Is this just my faulty global thinking at play or do ya'all think he should just pay the dam ticket and be done with it? He has such an insane need to be right all the time. But I think he is clearly in the wrong here. Neither one of us is going to let this go. Any opinions out there?

Artie, i think you are right. Just check the state law on who may park in a delivery zone. Do they need commercial plates? Then what does that entail?

Go online and pay it for him and tell him you took care of it, you have "connections". Then tell him he has destroyed any hope in my heart of finding a decent man to love

I think the can of worms worry may be a bit far off = at least in my jurisdiction - they don't care that much and it would take a bit of effort to get it to that level of making all contractors do something. I have found that traffic court is often more about someone wanting to tell their story to a judge. I have had clients be disgruntled when I fixed their tickets because they wanted to tell how they were wronged almost more than they wanted to not pay the fine. I would step back and let the spouse do it - sometimes protesting is worth it even if you lose.

I'd let him at it Art. Yeah, he'll probably lose a day of pay but I very much doubt any wormcans will be opened. I'd say the traffic court has heard similar stories a million times and their response will be something like 'get over yourself, pay the fine and get out of my sight'.
I think the not my circus, not my monkeys principle applies here. Hopefully he'll learn from the experience.

Thanks for the thoughts and for reassurance that he likely won't open a can of worms. Perhaps it would be good for a judge to tell him to get over himself I this no I will adopt the not my monkeys thing here and let him do what he wants. Appreciate the thoughts!

Have you ever seen the "Modern Family" episode where Claire asks her daughter to teach her how to use their new TV, and when her daughter asks, "Why can't dad show you?" she replies, "Because we're married."

Anyway, I get into similar issues with my H sometimes, and I kinda agree that sometimes, you are just never going to win, because you're married. He needs to either hear the same thing you're saying from someone else, or even if he ends up being "right", at least it won't be an argument between you anymore. "Not my monkeys" can get you a long way!

We do need someone without anyone on their ignore list to start a new couch. BPA is probably sleeping down under and hankster is hopped up on cough syrup and phlegm. Who will save us? Who? Who?

Doesn't matter - some people get worked up and complain and report it even if they have no intention of ever posting on the thread.
