The more knowledge about what those people do that I have, the better I can help myself and help my clients. I don't see that as a bad thing. I am not running around convincing people off the streets - I get called upon by the client or appointed by the court. Those who are happy and contented are not my problem nor do I try to interfere on their behalf. IF someone is happy and does not feel they are being abused and does not ask me to assist - no worries from me. Plus in my work, getting to go after a therapist is just icing on the cake, I am usually really after the md.
And to be fair - the reading about therapy is done for myself and my work. Not why I engage on this forum. Although all knowledge can be useful/

So I spent the past 5 days in St Louis visiting old coworkers/friends and my family. The coworkers had a party for me, it was SO much fun!!!! It started at 3pm and we finally broke it up and people went home at 1:30am! I hadn't seen some of them for 20 years. We laughed and talked and shared and drank and laughed until our heads ached and our tummys hurt and then laughed some more. It was so wonderful to be with these folks again. Many of us had lost touch until finding each other again on facebook and that's how this party was planned, on fb. I found a part of myself back during that party... a part that was "before marriage and kid".... a part I've missed and needed back. I shared that with t today. And speaking of t, we are now on an "as-needed basis", which pleases me. My visit with my sisters and mom went better than expected. I told t, I think ANY visit with my FOO needs to start out with a long party with friends first. I felt like a part of my soul was restored during that get-together. It was so amazing!!

Had a great night at my son's choir concert. It's a very informal affair with kids getting the chance to sing some Broadway and have some fun. Lots of talent and lots of laughs. Definitely needed today.

Greetings everyone. I hope you are doing well. I'm OK. Dr visit in Early Feb indicated pre-diabetes and unusual liver function. I have since lost 20lbs and virtually eliminated white food stuff( pasta , bread, potatoes, rice and sugar and alcohol). I found a new PDOC in my town that I am not in love with(hurrah). I go to the gym twice a day. If anybody has Grateful Dead tickets for Jully 4th weekend and wants to sell them, let me know. I am trying to relive my youth. Peace out(That is for you Stop Dog).

I am having some repairs done today. That always discombobulates my routine.

I found some chocolate bars in an unused drawer and I have to say that hershey's chocolate does not seem to change over the years. The use by date is 2011. The reese's peanut butter cups have a slightly odd taste - but the hershey's and the kitkat bars are pretty much no different. The chocolate has turned white in some places. (I do not eat this much chocolate usually - but I was curious so I cut one of the pb cups in half, one kitkat stick, and one square of the hershey's bar for comparison purposes). I cannot imagine why I even purchases a box of candy bars.

I am working an event at a Mennonite church this evening and I forgot my clothes to change into for the event at home... I am wearing nice jeans and a nice blouse... I am thinking jeans in a Mennonite church where the women are always wearing skirts/dresses/and hair coverings might be offensive. Damn it!

I don't think big brand American chocolate ever spoils. It's probably mostly preservatives.

That has never stopped me from eating it, however. In fact, I'd wreck a Reese's pieces sundae from Friendly's right now, no doubt.

Maybe not. Did they request you change to work the event? Most that I have experience with, while they don't approve of certain attire, also recognize that those who don't believe like them, aren't necessarily going to know or follow that.

granite - sorry I haven't posted before - I think it's awesome that you are going to work at the scrap convention. Your work is really beautiful, what I've seen of it, and you totally deserve this!

I had a very uncomfortable dream last night and I've been a bit off all day because of it. How sad is that.

Not sad at all - dreams affect me, a lot - all the time. *hugs*
