I react to everything and can grow a whole damn beard in a week or so. I pluck them but I hate it but otherwise it looks pretty gross to me. Unfortunately the skin under my jaw is permanently discolored from reactions to various efforts at hair removal over the years. But for some reason I find hair on other women lovely and endearing except if I am an item with someone ( though Ive been off the market for years) I do prefer that she shave her armpits. ....

I remember seeing a doco, i think called Urban Invaders or something. All about wildlife crossing into the human domain. The thing i remember thinking the most was that racoons were little thugs.

Hi Couch,

Worried dog mama here:
I took my 12 pound dog in for vaccinations this afternoon (about five hours ago) and she is acting pretty sick...spacey, shivering, site of injection pain...

I called the after hour number n they said give her nothing...watch her...or take her to 24 hr vet ER if I want to....

I'm watching her.

I'm hand feeding her Popsicle bits...that's encouraging.

Could you take her to the emergency vet?

I will take her to ER if I see she is getting worse. I will be watching her very closely all night.
She looks up if I move, so she is sort of alert.

Stupid vaccination reaction.

ahhh back home to my actual computer so I can respond to things correctly. I just can't figure out that tapatalk thing on my phone lol. I'm assisting with a new hire class at work, they just came out of training today and were on the phones for the first time. There's 4 of us floor-walking and answering their questions as they come up and coaching them. So basically, I'm on my feet all day. Tomorrow too, then a 3 day weekend yeah! then Tues - Fri of next week. And, my reward for all the hard work will be going to meet with t after I get off work next Friday evening!

She had rabies, 5-in-1 combo, and bordetella. She had the same package of shots last year but didn't have this bad of reaction. The vet said the manufacturer of the vaccines is Zoetis and she gave me their phone number- in case I need it.

Good evening, folks. Just got home from the first of 3 performances of Mahler's 3rd Symphony. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra was amazing! Huge orchestra for this work: 30 violins, 9 double basses, 9 horns, 5 trombones, 6 trumpets, 2 sets of timpani, 2 harps, and a partridge in a pear tree. Fantastic experience to listen to and participate in (although our entire part is all of 5 minutes long). My rear end is sore (the choral terrace seats are extremely uncomfortable and this symphony is 1:45 without an intermission, but it was so worth every minute.

This is our week of birthdays and concerts and award ceremonies. Yesterday was mine. Today is my middle son's. Tomorrow is my great nephew's. Next week is my youngest son's. My youngest had a concert Monday, an two award's ceremonies already this week. I have 3 concerts myself. Busy, busy, busy. Needless to say, birthday celebrations are being postponed until we are all actually sitting still at the same time -- probably in June.

Bordetella was an issue for us, we gave her Benadryl and the issue subsided... Hope you find the cure to that babies issues

Did your dog get a leptospirosis vaccine in the combo vaccine? ? Small dogs can have very severe reactions to leptospirosis so if she had a lepto vaccine I'd seriously consider taking her to the ER vet ( I'm a vet btw but I specialize in horses)
Thanks for this!

It's strange how things that happened to us a long time ago still affects us an awful lot. I've thought a lot about that lately.

Good morning, couchkateers.

I have been hibernating since Tuesday afternoon, but I actually have to get up today for a T appt...argh. The "argh" is not for the T appt, but the actual getting up part. Blech.

With my horses, I have one horse who has to have her shots given separately. She cannot get the 5 way without getting sick. So she gets a four way, then tetanus a week later, then west Nile, then rabies. Vaccines can be tricky. Oh, also BB can probably tell you more, but my vet said once an animal has reacted to a vaccine, you need to watch for the reaction to worse with each exposure, like an allergic reaction in humans. Hope the pup is feeling better this morning.
Thanks for this!

Good news...Emmy (my pup) is better!

I don't know what is in the combo vaccine. Maybe next year they can split the vaccines so she is not getting so many at one time.

That kinda scared me last night. Phew!

Thank you, that's good to know!

Yes, she is acting more like her old self. She is able to jump up on the recliner with me again. She's resting next to me.
