I tap my fingers. Bend my foot upwards as if trying to keep feelings at bay.
Anyone else do this?i

I pick at my skin too, and yank on my hair.
If I catch myself I rub my hands on my jeans and rub my feet hard on the carpet. That seems to help let the emotions out. They get trapped somehow... That's what it feels like anyway...

I'm with JustShakey. I skin pick too, and yank on my hair.

Bite my lip or inner cheek, fidget with my hair (when it was long I would twirl and tie it in knots, then rip them out) and get a monster headache.

Apparently my face also bears some of the brunt. Today at work, having anxiety and picking my face. Yay.

I fidget with things, tap my fingers or bounce my legs... I also hug something, and hide in my clothes or behind my hair... sometimes I dig my nails into my skin or scratch my arms.

I used to pull my hair out, a couple of times I actually punched myself in the head until I had a headache (yeah, i had some real healthy behaviors in the past) and the scalp/skin picking too. one pain to replace another, i guess. Big safe hugs to those experiencing these things now. I am so extremely thankful they are in the past for me. And I pray they stay there.

eta: oh yes. as echoes said I ate. Too much and stuff that was bad for me. Unfortunately.

ugh I have had a skin picking problem as well....any suggestions for stopping that? But in therapy I would sometimes grab my skin really tight or dig my nails in so I started bringing silly putty so that I had something to do with my hands....

I found that wearing makeup regularly - high quality stuff, not the drugstore brands, helped with stopping the picking and cleared up my skin.
