It's on and off so I'm not as worried, but I still have these attacks. I dont want to bother her, I'm just going to somehow wait until next week.

Have you started any new medications or supplements, even like a vitamin or herbal tea or something, before this began? Various things can affect your cycle. Or it could be that a med/supplement is making your blood thinner, so you're bleeding more. How's your diet? I'm assuming since you're in college, not the most balanced, at least based on my experience! Could be something like iron deficiency, vitamin K deficiency, etc. Maybe try a multivitamin if you're not taking one? Just a few ideas that wouldn't be something serious. (I also suffer from medical anxiety.) I'd also suggest contacting your T again. A second e-mail would show you're still worried.

I am not telling you to do go the doctor. I am, however, telling you that when I had this same issue and went to the doctor, the first step in treating it was receiving a prescription for birth control pills and taking 4 in the same day. Worked like a charm. Not even anxiety could mess up my doctor's plan.

Well I think my period is over now. I think the real one started last tuesday so I guess it did last a week? I dont know what the ones before were, like on and off and heavy. Hopefully it just calms down. I dont think I'm sending another email because I dont want to bother her, so I'm just going to distract myself and wait. Thanks for everyones answers

I don't know if this helps you at all but I have the exact same issue, repeatedly for about 10 yrs. i've had all the tests and there's no medical reason for it (other than poor self-care and eating habits). I was convinced I had some kind of ovarian/uterine cancer or something but it was nothing...
Try not to worry too much! |

Now I regret sending the email... This always happens! I just wish I never sent it because I know for a fact were going to talk about it next week and to be honest I really want to cancel for a while and just not go. Any advice?

Can you see it as a good thing that your therapist at least knows that you have more anxiety than what you share in session? It seemed that a lot of your recent stress was over having told her things were fine when they weren't/aren't. That doesn't mean you don't have anxiety over the original issue, but at least you won't have to worry about giving her the wrong impression. That seems like a big hurdle you've gotten past. Congrats on doing that.

Maybe you feel that way because your original anxiety has not been addressed? By emailing, you kept from piling on more anxiety about keeping this all to yourself, but you're still suffering.
Would it be easier to tell your therapist that the main issue is anxiety that keeps you from seeing a doctor, without going into details? You have to do what feels right for you. |
