My anxiety has been up lately and I was hoping to not have to see my T but I've decided that it's best I see her 1x a month for maintenance. I'm seeing her on Monday and it's been about a month since I've last seen her. Lately I've had several dreams about my therapist. In my dream I'm driving by her house and seeing her rake leaves in her yard. The next day I drive by her house I don't see her outside but I see their are fewer leaves. Every day after that I don't see her in the yard but I see fewer leaves. I'm hoping to see her to make sure she's still there but I don't see her.

Another dream I'm walking into her bedroom and she's in bed with her husband. They don't see me but I see them. I then walk out and every day after that I walk into the room to see if she's there but she's not.

Does this mean I'm afraid of my T going away or abandoning me???

I was taught that dreams represent feelings we are experiencing. So if you think your afraid of her abandoning you, then that's probably what it means.

I think your dreams are about this ambivalence. I think you do want to see your T and are using your heightened anxiety as an "excuse" to. You don't need an excuse. You can want to see her whether you are anxious or not.

Scarlett and Perna thank you so much for your response. I saw T today and she told me she always has time for me to have an appointment :-) That has brought me so much comfort. I feel lucky to have her and Perna you are right I shouldn't have to be anxious to see her. I love my T and I am so grateful to have her as a sounding board.
