well that was about the fastest one I ever did. I guess I needed to. I need to get more stuff for it though, hard to express my inner self with the few things I have for it. Let's hear it for emotional intimacy (yay) this shows i think my dividedness on the whole subject of inner world vs outer world on the left side the 'good stuff' is down in the holes. I think that's all I am able to say about it for now.

Pardon while my inner girl scout comes out and I sing:

"Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other's gold" Join me in a round, everyone.

This morning I had a dog in a dustpan, but she's too wily to have her picture taken. And since my kids have turned me into the crazy cat lady, no boxes have been safe. Oh, and the bathroom sinks make great napping places!
Thanks for this!

I like your Turkish evil-eye bead in the middle of it. It looks like it's protecting everything - and keeping an 'eye' on everything...

My cats jump up on the bathroom sink, and meow pitifully until someone comes in and turns the water on for them. They prefer to drink out of the faucets than their water bowl. We used to have a cat fountain thing for them, but the motor burned out, so they just have a bowl now and I think they miss their fountain!

I think that's kinda why I put it there... like, an all-seeing eye watching both sides. Maybe that's why it's in the very center. Interesting. Thanks!

I love cats and wish I could have one. Unfortunately, my husband is allergic. We did have an awesome guinea pig, Rufus, for about 6 years (and another awesome one that sadly only lived 6 months with us--I think he had a heart or lung condition, though the vet was never really sure). No pets now, and I miss having one. Might have to get a dog because my daughter loves them.

Don't beat yourself up about it Art. It doesn't come from a desire to be selfish - it's about safety.

I was playing with horses today and had something cool happen. For the sport we compete in, the horses have to be able to do certain "obstacles" like turns on the haunches, back around trees or in figure eights, allow the rider to open a gate from horseback, etc. My new horse not only does not know how to do these things, she sometimes gets really ticked off when asked to do things she thinks are stupid. So I was working with her and she got really upset and flustered when asked to back around a cone. I break it down into tiny pieces and we do one tiny bit at a time, but trying to do it as a continuous motion is still overwhelming for her. My former competition horse was watching us and kept indicating to me that he wanted to do the obstacle. So I went and got him and we did that obstacle and a few others while the new girl watched. He was happy because he likes to play and get treats.

When I switched back to the new horse, suddenly she was doing those obstacles really well and really calmly! I switched horses again and had the older horse show her two more tricks that I need her to do. Switched back to the new girl and she is doing those perfectly well also. I am very happy about this discovery. Suddenly my training job with the new horse got a lot easier. Tomorrow we will work on opening and closing gates.
Thanks for this!

For what it's worth, Art, I agree with this. Control has always equalled safety for me.

Mkac that is really interesting!! That reminds me of how at like the kentucky derby they have the companion horse to keep the racehorse in check while they are walking around. I just noticed that this year.

omg. control. that's why i didn't call her sooner than i did. in some subconscious way i must have known i was afraid of the deeper intimacy of her seeing me again last month after all the crap i'd told her on the phone in the past 2.5 years, and to avoid having to feel that, i didn't call her, until there were so many dreams i didn't have a choice. so when she said that to me, that's why my stomach started to hurt, because i was feeling that fear. damn.
