Same here for the most part, we don't use Facebook, but I could email her anytime, though I mostly stick to Monday through Friday, and now we Skype between sessions. I pay an inclusive rate which covers 90 minutes a week of live session time and unlimited email/Skype/messages.

I fear I contact T too much and have told her to please tell me if she ever feels that way. She tells me that fear is coming from me, not her. And T's have also said, "Ask for what you want" - so, I do.

I used to talk to mine all the time too.
I will never do that outside of session with another one. It's *my* boundary. Maybe I would call if I was literally going to kill myself that day. Maybe if a close family member died or I hurt myself badly and ended up in the hospital, but that's about it. |

I've found that the more contact I have with my T's between session, the stronger the connection becomes. Then it goes out of control. ![]() Tighter boundaries for me, work better - but I like that it's my decision and that she is available if I need her. I don't need to be waiting all week for an email response, or fret about what I wrote or a lack of response. |

I am allowed between-session contact with my therapist, although I do not use it.

I'm with you on that. I have had some horrible, re-traumatizing re-enactments in therapy under both therapists I've worked with over the past two years. I'm more careful now. T isn't going to protect me.
