The stbx lost tens of thousands playing poker. I don't like cards very much...

I loved that. It is probably the most accurate "Coming to America" movie of all time. It really shows the immigrant experience.

You don't need a "reason" or anyone's permission to be angry. You just are.

Hi, couch.

A little past midnight here. I am home from CVS and caught up on the couch. I had C this morning. We went to the zoo (again). I love the zoo. C fed the giraffes. We also fed the lorakeets. I held the nectar cup for them, one landed on my hand to drink out of it. And we rode the train to see the camels and lemurs. I am off from CVS tomorrow, so I will do some laundry in the morning before heading to an early supper with my mom later in the day.

I had a late lunch with my grandma today. We met at Applebee's. Mom and I are going to a mom and pop Italian restaurant tomorrow. Free food it good. :-P

I am just chilling now. Not really tired enough to go to bed yet. So, I shall play on the computer for a bit, then head to bed and wake up to wash clothes. Clean clothes are also good.

I hate that I can't identify what I am feeling. Don't feel human actually.

Pup came with an unfortunate skin disease which we are treating - but because of his breed, he can't have the usual treatment so we are trying a non-approved drug.
He looks like a leper.

My room is my bat cave Hands down one of the best things about leaving the stbx - my own room, my own bed and the right to tell everyone else (cats and children) to GTFO.
Ahhhh, heaven

I made a little nature altar in a corner of my bedroom. My little place of sanctuary, where my little candle burns every night that i look at as i fall asleep...

Afternoon, couch.

Just chilling before heading to spoil my mom's dog with toys and treats, followed by dinner.

It is storming here right now...hopefully it will stop before I have to leave. It has several hours, so it should.

I hate driving in the rain.

While wrapping my mom's dog's surprises, my finger got too close to the metal part of the tape dispenser while trying to rip tape off and I scratched/cut it. Fingers bleed a lot (at least on me). Nothing a little band-aid can't fix though.

Laundry is done...just needs put away.

Thanks Granite, it was just one of those too-long nights where I needed the house to myself for a while, peace and quiet you know, just to veg out, but what I got was a very long and loud temper tantrum from my daughter, the family's plans cancelled so I had no time to myself, and being up until 2am catching up at work, ugh.

But I'm going to take a nap now and hope to make up for a little of that. I just really need alone time sometimes, especially with my kiddo home for the summer with me, so hopefully I'll get some soon, she'll be at camp next week, so if I can just get hubby out of the house for a while, lol.

How're you!?

Oh that sounds so wonderful.

I just reached out to a meetup group in my area- I am determined to create a social life, lol now that I'm out of school. So, maybe I will get lucky and find something like you have! I think there are.... I dunno, maybe as much as 150 meetups near me, and I think I can probably find a good dozen to try. Here's hoping for a good match!

Re: your other post, I do have a special space too, my office/therapy space/extra bedroom, and in it I have some meaningful items to focus on too. Last night was so crazy, I couldn't even get upstairs though, but I'm sure the rest of the week will be better, ugh I hope! My daughter will actually be at camp for the week, first time she's done overnight, so I'm looking forward to sleeping the whole night through for a while, if I can just get my husband on board.

Maybe I should reread it. I had to read it as an undergraduate, as well as To the Lighthouse and Orlando, and did not like them at all. Not because they were required reading so much as because of the teacher I had. Perhaps I would give the book more of a fair chance at 42 than I did at 19.

Good luck with it! I hope you find a good match too! I feel like I got super lucky cuz this was the first meetup group I ever tried and it was a perfect fit.

I giggle at every one of those commercials Buster Posey has been doing lately. Especially the one where the husband wants him to deliver his wife's baby. They are so funny!

Thank you for this! Because my other go-to "room of her own" story is "The Yellow Wallpaper." Feminist horror, shiver. https://www.gutenberg.org/files/1952/1952-h/1952-h.htm

Hey couch! Just got back from a long drive, took the girls to Edisto Beach for the day. I'm in awe of the ocean, but the sand is not my friend. Everyone else napped in the car, and now it's finally my turn!
