Nope, can't say that I've ever reached the point with any therapist I've ever gone to that I've fell in love with the sound of his/her voice. I do, however, love the sound of my own voice talking in a session. It means that I'm getting my money's worth!
Thanks for this!

I listen to her voice on repeat on my ipod, all the soundtracks of her voice messages left for me over the years. That's how much I love it. Gentle, understanding and warm.

Never thought about it. It's ok I guess. She has an accent similar to mine.

I never thought about my T's voice until one day my pdoc (who used to work in the same clinic as my T) was asking about my therapy and said "Doesn't T have a soothing voice?"

I said "Uh...I guess so?" and wondered if I should remind her that he's a married man. I love my therapist's voice

Yes. I wish I could remember it when I'm not in session.

My therapist and I did our work online via chat for the first year or so and continued to do therapy online for two years, along with phone calls. These days, we do 90 minutes of phone call session a week....

but in the time that we chatted online, print only, I created my own sense of her "voice" just as I do when I read a novel and imagine what the characters would sound like...

so that her actual voice is often not as pleasant as my perception of it lol.

Sometimes, in person, her voice is nearly gravely (she's older, I think that's contributed to it) and I have to reconcile the internal and external versions of how she sounds.

At any rate, she as a person is lovely and comforting, so I am quite content. Her personality speaks to me a lot more loudly than her voice.
Thanks for this!

Have you thought about recording your sessions? It has helped me so much.

Hmmmm
I may have recorded a voicemail message for me from T in to my ipad, then emailed it to my friend so she could hear my T.
Is that weird?
Thanks for this!

I love my therapist's voice, unfortunately. I find it very sexy. Very smooth. Of course, that is an air he puts on. My other therapist had sort of a deep voice that I actually found kind of distracting, it was that deep.

I do love her voice. I don't know why I wrote the opposite before. It might be the reason she was on vacation and I was a lil' bit in the mood.
