I like B & M baked beans for the kind you get in a can. I make my own from dried beans usually, but sometimes the canned kind are quite handy.

Doing laundry. Cleaned a little bit earlier this morning, still need to finish. Have to wait until Thursday to take the recycling out. Our bin is full right now and they don't pick it up until Wednesday. Have to wait for it to be empty.

Still have to take out the last bag of trash too. I just have it in here still, in case there is anything else I cone across that needs pitched. I think I got everything though. Just more finding places for things now. Or puttting things back where they belong. Have to do a few dishes too. Don't want the ladies I live with to know I had dirty dishes in my room, so I will wait till they are in bed for that.

I have CVS tomorrow. Will be nice to be back after a 4 day off streak. Off at 2:15 tomorrow. Then I have C at night. I haven't seen C since before school started. I like him. No zoo this time though as they will be closed. :-P Have to go to Chick-Fil-A or Walmart or somewhere. Will give me some more to save for emergencies.

I bought some things today to give the kids on Monday to "say goodbye" to them. Dollar store is my friend. I got a few things at Walmart too. And I had to go the the Christian Bookstore to get something for one kid. He likes Veggie Tales, so I got him a plush. They don't sell Veggie Tales stuff just anywhere.

I have little bags with their names in cool fonts and colors printed and taped to gift bags. A little farewell for them, since they will no longer have me in their classroom. Tuesday, I start my new classes.

Good things I have done so far today, got out of bed (didnt want to, but did) ate breakfast, washed up dishes. Thinking about shower and mopping the floor. I will mop the floor ffrst as it isn't as hard as having a shower...wtf is that all about?

My 6 mos old puppy is walking around the house just putting everything in his mouth that he can fit in it - the table, my foot, the arm of the chair, the newspaper, the cat....

He has a large tub of toys and about 15 half chewed rawhide strips lying on the floor along with some giant bones (the kind that don't splinter) - but the cat is his favorite chew toy of all. And what is more surprising is that the cat just lies there for a bit until it gets too rough or too spitty.

Hi Couchities--

I need a place to vent for a moment. Why do people make commitments and then back out of them leaving others to pick up their mess? It keeps happening over and over to me with the same person who I am forced to work with and it's driving me batty.

I took the bus to whole foods and bought stuff for the potluck tomorrow. I decided on sauteed quartered cremini mushrooms over spaghetti squash, fresh ricotta optional. We're having chicken skewers over rice, a tossed salad, raw veg and hummus dip (i thought that was too similar to do a veggie pasta salad then) and fruit for dessert. No one under 60 is invited! I decided against any kale or chard or spinach cuz i didnt want to interfere with anybody's anti-clotting medication!

Last load of laundry in dryer. Need to hang first load and fold sheet/towel load still. Had some microwave hot wings and microwave fetticini alfredo for supper. Microwave food is so fast and easy. Not the healthiest, but eh...it works.

Need to finish cleaning still. Won't have time tomorrow between CVS and C. Then I have my school job and CVS every day except Wednesday this week. But, Wed I can't clean as I see pdoc after school job. Not looking forward to pdoc as I have to get a shot. Really, it doesn't hurt, I still just don't like dropping my pants.

Well, I should go check on my laundry and then put away the other loads. Then maybe clean some more (hopefully finish). Why I can't keep things clean and organized is beyond me. I just can't for some unknown reason.

I'm doing laundry too, the last bit I didn't finish yesterday. Son has gone with his friend to the local pick & pull to try to find a window for his truck.

You guys all sounds like you are getting things done!!

I'm feeling really really low from the workweek. Work sucks--40 people laid off and whole positions gone leaving us to pick up the pieces. Does not feel like a nice environment right now, zero camaraderie. I held that coworker baby shower on the day 5-6 members of our team were let go. It was awful. They brought in food and gifts but could not attend.

I see a job opportunity in another state but I need to update my resume and portfolio this weekend in order to hustle and get my application in.

Moving (again) means a potential lowering of my cost of living but I'd need to find a replacement for CBT T (I shouldn't stay only for him I know)

First load of laundry hung up. Towels and sheets folded. Last load of laundry out of dryer (PJs)...now just to fold them. Out of sodas, debating going to the store just to get some. I ran out this morning, but I still had OJ, so I was drinking that all day. But now I have nothing to drink. I could make kool-aid, but it is nasty warm and I am thirsty now and want a cold drink. I don't have any ice to put in the kool-aid, so that is not an option. Decisions, decisions. Grrr....

I have warm sparkling waters too, but I want something cold. I should have put them in the fridge earlier today or made kool-aid earlier today. Oh well...it is what it is.

Need to finish cleaning too. I have 2 shopping bags (not with groceries though) to sort through from the first week of school when I was bringing crap in and home. And need to organize my make-up drawer. I was good about putting on make-up the first week of school, then it went by the wayside. I need to start again. I look more professional in make-up. And how I wear it only takes about 5-10 minutes to put on. I have it, so I might as well use it.

Well, I am off to make some kool-aid to start getting cold. Then I will run to the gas station up the road, to buy some cokes to get me through till the kool-aid is cold. Just to get me through the night.

I bought some new clothes while I was out today. But as I was hanging them up tonight, I noticed that I somehow came home with an XL, when I wear M. The store is out by the CVS I work at, and I do have about 2 hours between CVS and C, so I can swing by and exchange it tomorrow. Hopefully, they have my size, so I can have the same color.

Well, off to make kool-aid. For real this time. Be back later.

Cats are amazingly tolerant of children/puppies. You should see what mine put up with.

I corrected her pretty quickly (I am not an Obama advocate, but I still had to say something). I said it was not Obama it was Osama Bin Laden and she told me I was wrong because Obama admitted last week that he sent the planes. Wow! Just wow.

Then she proceeded to tell me that I was too young to remember 9-11. I told her I was 18 and in college. She then told me that I was still too young to understand what was going on or what happened. I think an 18 year old can understand what happened. It's not like I was 2.
This woman is too stupid to be teaching kids. WTF?

Reminds me of an old David Allan Coe song. It has a slightly different list of what a country song requires: Mama, Trains, Trucks, prison and getting drunk. If you don't want to listen to the entire tune, start listening at the 3:05 mark.

All of my dogs have been raised by cats. My current cat is the most tolerant. I have had cats who weighed no more than 5 lbs terrorize 75+lb dogs their whole lives.

Well, kool-aid is made. I am still waiting for it to chill. I still need to fold my PJs and finish organizing. I voted for a shower instead. Showers are nice.

Now my foot is itching...I put some hydrocortisone in it...hopefully it will help soon.

Well...maybe I should try to organize a little...folding can wait...it's not like it matters if PJs are wrinkled.

Hey couch! I'm pooped, me and the girls went to visit my sister this morning, took my two nephews for the afternoon, went to a birthday party and came home to do a little cleaning, a little cooking, and tonight we even crafted. Those people on you tube get to edit out the tedious parts, but we don't have that option in real life!

I'm up cycling some cardboard boxes I've been unearthing in the storage room, covering with contact paper, and making pretty storage containers to dress up our space a little. Well, as dressy as contact paper can be, compared to various brown corrugated boxes with logos from all over!

Hope my Couchies are having a nice weekend The Couch - 100 threads and 3 years ago

Why am I up at 5 am? I had a horrible dream, thanks brain for remembering that one! Woke up stiff, every muscle clenched and battle-ready. Even my face.

Hope you are all doing something more fun than that. Check back later, after I finish processing all this adrenaline.

Ahhh I sure needed this 3 day weekend. Hubby went grocery shopping yesterday on his way home from playing golf (one of his redeeming qualities, he likes grocery shopping) and brought home a big pack of pork steaks/pork chops that I will grill today. Have a good day/night, couch!
