I googled my T and didn't find anything except there is someone in Texas that is a big rock star with his name. I told him and said that I liked his side job and steve just laughed. I googled my current Pdoc and just found her on the clinics website and didn't find anything else out about her. I googled my last Pdoc's name cuz I wanted to see what clinic he went to so I could go see him there.

Google what? </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> A lot of states now have state board websites where you can search your doc's background and it will often list if they've had any board action taken against them. Of course, it doesn't always tell the whole story as I found out the hard way. My pdoc has an arrest record (actually more than once) and that's not on the the website nor is the fact that he's appeared before the state board for sexual misconduct which he managed to get away with because I wouldn't testify against him (that will always be part of his file but not open to the public). When I found out he had lied to me about his marital status (said he was divorced) I did a little deeper digging and that's when I found out he has multiple arrests. I looked up a therapist here in the city I live in and she had been in trouble with the state board (she is an LMFT) for violating confidentiality - needless to say I never made an appointment with her - so it does help at times. </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> Wow.... Nothing like finding out about arrests. I do not envision that with my pdoc but maybe I will start googling. Thanks |

Washington medical board is:
https://fortress.wa.gov/doh/hpqa1/HP...al/default.htm Then you can click on provider credentials on the left side of the screen where you can then search by name. |

Here's a link to other states:
http://www.docboard.org/docfinder.html You can also check on any mental health professional licensed by your state (psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, etc) - if they have faced disciplinary action that's a matter of public record and you have a right to that information. It would have saved me a world of hurt to have known what my good old doc was up to before I walked into his office. |

yep .. been there done that.. guess im a stalker.. its kinda shocking what is on the net.. scary too.. ive googled myself and was upset about some stuff there.. like not really wanting anyone to know i was part of some certain community.... lol.... so i wrote them and toldthem to take me off of their list but still!
anyways, yes, i have found most of the shrinks and therapist I have h ad.... even pictures at times, honors, emails, etc. I have also found there articles and sometimes dissertations which I have read on occasion if interested. It is quite fun as I am a psych nerd and plan to go to grad school but also nice to know my therapist are real competent as well. ![]() ![]() |

Glad to hear others do this. I search the internet for information. The only thing I've found are directories listing them as practioners. And, SuperGimp, I was wondering/worrying if I was stalking, too.

Yes I have googled both of them! Not much about my pdoc but did find out her husband works for Pfizer as a scientist. She keeps a really low profile on the internet.
Found out some about my psychologist; she and a pdoc from Georgia did work on "Taming the anxious Mind" and have a whole presentation in slide form several places such as Medscape, plus she has other stuff, nothing personal tho. |
