Anyone read much by Janet Frame? I have been thinking of buying her book, "Faces In The Water." It's a fictionalized account of a long stay in a psych ward.

In real life she was institutionalized for eight years. I read she was scheduled for a lobotomy but the docs reconsidered when they learned she had won a literary prize...

Hi, couch.

Day off went well. No school job today due to Veteran's Day. I was off from CVS too. I did watch C for a few hours today as his mom had some things to get done. It was fun.

Had T this morning. T got on me for not taking my medication and suggested I set an alarm to remember to take it. I told her that previous T suggested that and it did not work. So then she suggested keeping some in my purse for when I do remember later to take it. She suggested this when I mentioned that I usually remember after I am already at school job and the med is at home. Need to check with pdoc or a pharmacist on that one. I would be worried about the heat it would endure in the car while I am at CVS job. Hmmm... Might be an idea though. Worth a try if the heat will not make the med unsafe. Haven't heard back from pdoc on the email I sent, so I guess I am not going to. Evidently I have nothing to worry about. Or at least I assume since he didn't say there was a problem. Whatever.

T also worries that I am going to get burned out working "3" jobs now. I tried explaining that CVS will be less hours as we lose our 24 hour status. And plus the homebound student is only an hour a week.

Need to clean my room at some point. There is piles of clean laundry all over and other items stacked to the high heavens. It looks like a tornado hit my room. I just have been too beat to clean it lately and today is no exception for the moments I have been home. After I came home from C, I crashed on the couch and took a 2 hour nap. Then woke up and forced some dimmer down and alas, here I am. I need to shower too, so that will take time and I am still beat and have no energy.

I hope I can at least get the clothes put away tonight.
Hugs from:
BonnieJean

Dr appointment went well. My blood pressure is better than it's ever been since I went on meds (114/70), and I weigh less now than I did last year at this time, which is pretty cool to me, now I just have to wait a few days for the results of the blood work.

Squirrel when I take my meds to work with me I take them in a small individual carrying case. Some you can put in your pock or on ur keys. You might be able to find one at CVS next time or other stores carry them too. Just make sure it's big enough for all and your biggest pill or divide them in to AM PM and pick up two. Just a thought. Then you dont have to worry about leaving them in a very hot car.

Thats what i was thinking (But had to eat dinner first! Thanks dd!). They have a nice little silver bullet like screw case that goes on your key chain.

But would it be a problem bringing it into the school? Can the kids get to it or can you lock it up?
Thanks for this!

Hey couch. I've been singing so much today I think I better stop now and go to bed so I'll be able to sing that song for t tomorrow after work. I really really love to sing, I so ought to take lessons so I can try to get a little better. I hate how I sound. But how I love to do it anyway.

Interesting session with the Countess.

I always thought that Madame T was giving me too little too late, but in fact she gave me too much too soon. I bullied her into being my mother, a role that was incompatible with being my therapist. According to the Countess, Madame T should have stated explicitly that she could not be my mother, and she should not have allowed me to give her flowers on Mothers Day. We had a special relationship which we should not have had.

Bottom line: it is possible to be too attached in therapy, and that's what happened here.

(((CE))) that IS interesting. In retrospect, the mothers day flowers was one of the first things you mentioned when we met here. So its like it was a gambling tell; it was an issue or a signal from the beginning, one just did not see the significance.

I love stuff like this. I told t this week after talking to my brother that this was why i was so defensive about t's being defensive - but i never said anything about MY being defensive, just t! But now i could see my own defensiveness. Ten years later - hey better later than never!
Thanks for this!

Una...

No, there is nowhere to lock up my stuf at school job. I am not in the same place all day, so I have to carry it around. Dunno, never thought of that. Hmmm...

I just need some way to do take it regularly.

Need to get back to work. Later couch.

2 coats oil based primer, dried about 20 hours, now one coat Tropical Coral Floor Paint, streaky as heck but drying for a second coat tomorrow. Followed by some stencil yet to be decided, my vote is stripes and their vote is "are we done yet?" solid. I think I winThe Couch 102, Buckle My Shoe! but we shall see.

Hopefully the dreaded stomach bug will allow me to work tomorrow so I'll get finished this weekend.

Next step, walls. Oy! Imagine the crayon masterpieces hidden behind furniture.

All the Couchies must be doing something fun! I'm bored and tired, but the bonus teen gets off work at 11:00 and I'm her ride. Boo! Hiss!

I shall occupy myself on Pinterest and the couch until then.

I'm not doing anything fun. Just zoning to stupid TV and trying to get up enough energy to feed the dogs their dinner and take them out.

Just got home from t. I did it, y'all, I told her I wanted to sing one of Melissa's songs for her because yada yada yada, and of course she was all enthusiastic about the idea, it took me a couple minutes to get my brave on but I did it! And I didn't sound half bad even to myself. She said 'thank you' about 4 times, said she could tell I dug deep and some other stuff. That it was lovely and that I have a beautiful voice. Now I know she's just saying t stuff. ha. But it felt really really good to do it, I told her before I started, I'm SO nervous but if I can just get the first note out I think I'll be ok, and I was. I had to keep my eyes closed, though. There was no way in hell I could have done that with my eyes open....

Makes me wonder how in the world someone gets up on a stage in front a a huge, packed room and sings into a microphone besides!! I was sitting on a couch with only t in the room and couldn't open my eyes until I was completely through the song. Maybe that was because she knows me so well she knew exactly where I was singing from.... the feelings were so strong while I was singing I couldn't bear to see her see me?
