My t has been practicing for about 18-20 years, and is 12 years older than me. When I first started looking for a t again, all I knew was that it needed to be a woman because of the bad experience I had with that one male t many years ago. I wasn't concerned about their age. As it turns out, I think it's been helpful that current t is older than I am.

Both of the T's I have seen were about the same age, which is about the same age as I am. They both have been practicing for 25 years or more. I don't think I would be comfortable with anyone too much younger than me, no more than 10 yrs younger, I think. I don't know, I just think it would be weird.
My last Psychiatrist was fresh out of school by a couple of years. I found that a bit awkward, and hard to relate. Since I quit taking meds I no longer see her.

I put other because I currently have two.
First has had private practice for 6 years but he's good. Usually.
Second has been doing it more than 15 years. She's good.
I prefer people around my age, married with kids because they can relate to my struggles. Or if they're older.
My son sees a new psychologist. She's good with him but I wouldn't feel comfortable with her for me because she's so young. Maybe it's good she's starting off with kids and has great mentors to work with.

A very long time. She is in her early 60s and has been practicing since college (20s)

My therapist has been in practice for almost six years. As long as I've been seeing him ( was the second or first client he had). I started seeing him because I knew how he worked from a free personal development group he held and he was good (and cheap). I didn't care much about experience with other clients.

My T has been practicing for 2 years. At first I was slightly skeptical of his newness but it hasn't affected our sessions in anyway and honestly has been better than Ts with 30+ years of experience that I have been too because he's so fresh and excited about his job. Plus I like being able to relate to him better since he's closer to my age.
