I got an email from my T. I don't fully understand it, but it's better than her last email.

My sister who lives in Kansas City buys this expensive gourmet chocolate, and she brought a box to thanksgiving. I looked it up just now to see how expensive is expensive, and find it's $90 for a box of 48 pieces. I cannot imagine an occasion where I would allow myself to purchase that!! Yowza!! Can you imagine?! I mean it tasted good, but.... not $2 for one little piece good. Well, they do have a 4 piece box for $10.... that would be okay for a very special treat I guess. But still. Sheesh. She says they are hand made. They better have edible gold in them for those prices!

Actually I would do it for special occasions if I cared about chocolate that much.
I have bought expensive liquor before.

Yeah, I guess it's what you're into. I mean, most people will spend a small fortune on diamond jewelry when most of us can't tell the difference between a nicely cut diamond and a nicely cut piece of glass. At least you can taste the difference in the chocolate and liquors...

Speaking of jewelry, I miss wearing my engagement ring. I picked it out myself and I love it...

Ugh! I feel so achy all over. Gotta go to work soon. Today and one more weekend at Panera and I'm done. I think they're opening the tax office the 26th of December. Once January comes it'll probably be a 6 day workweek between taco bell and tax office at least through April. Then I don't know what I'll do.

Well, I went on a date with the husband last night. I had a gift card to a fancy restaurant that I didn't quite realize was *that* fancy... we live on a pretty tight budget and it's Christmas (and we have kids). It was considerably more than I'd budgeted but it was so delicious and after the rough month we've had, I actually feel pretty okay today. It was nice to eat at place that expects you to sit there for two or three hours.

The H and I just... talked. Laughed. Enjoyed cocktails and even overpriced dessert (the entrees were definitely worth the $$ but the coffee and dessert were definitely overpriced, but I figured at that point, why the heck not?).

Maybe my T was right and I'm emotionally drained.

Theoretically, you could wear it on the ring finger of your right hand and it would be a normal ring. (If you still have it, of course.)

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I'm going to wait a while though. I don't need the eight year old telling her father that I'm still wearing 'his' ring. It's already taken fairly extreme measures to get him to accept that I'm divorcing him for real.

That sucks. I know you probably love the ring itself but what about getting it redone or something? Like taking the stone(s) and designing something new that might have the vibe of the current design but with a fresh take?

Honestly Rainbow Lorrikeets must the most stupid birds on this earth. Why do they keep flying it to windows and houses? Arcgh. They are quite attractive though. They are nectar feeders but they persist in eating seeds and an enzyme in the seeds does something to their flight feathers and so they are doomed to walk forever.

It's very small - I have little fingers. I don't know what else could be done with it... I'm half thinking of having it resized so it would fit my middle finger.

Resizing isn't too expensive. I guess I was thinking like a complete redesign? Don't jewelry stores do that?
