I feel that I need to email t to tell her what's going on. I've been doing a lot of deep thinking tonight, and I realized I have no purpose in life right now, besides taking care of my mental and physical health. I'm starting to feel lost without having a job, and at my last job I got fired in June and haven't worked since. I filed for disability and got denied, so i'm waiting to hear back from my appeal. I'm acting like I'm depressed, but I feel stable with my moods. I'm isolating a lot and all I do all day is sit around and cook a couple meals.
I want to email t and ask her if depression can be a learned habit and how can it be broken. I feel like I'm stuck in this cycle, and I need to break it. Maybe if I come up with a routine, it would help. |

Hi Moreta,
I have been home from work quite often because of surgeries and recovery, etc. I know what you mean by having a routine. Having a routine is really essential to me. Even when I don't work. Otherwise I end up staying up all night, not eating well, wasting my time and feeling bored and depressed. Although I think that the depression is something that is more or less always there for me, even when I do work. So I don't know whether it is 'learned'. But I am quite sure that it develops easier when we get out of our routine, having too much time to think. I think that you mentioned a great idea: starting to get a routine. I hope your T can help you with this. Then maybe you can start looking for a new job and see whether that makes any difference. Wish you all the best. |

I would say go ahead and email your T. If you know the boundaries and your T allows it then take full advantage. That's been the only way I've been able to talk to T about some stuff but similar to you I've been feeling kind of low and lost as well and I dont want to tell my T that because I have a tendency to solve things on my own (or try to). Go ahead and email whatever you want to know and i'm sure even a small response will help you out! Goodluck!

Mo, if you feel the need to email your T then by all means do it. Your gut feeling is a good indicator of the little voice guiding you. It never hurts to get insight into many things. I found asking helps save us a lot of pain and suffering in the long run, all cause we took the time to find things out. I wish you the best, tc

I think it could help if you email her and get your thoughts out. Some people can get more out with emails and writing then in person. I hope you get some relief soon.

I hope you emailed your T and got the support you needed. Life is hard. I try to just focus on one day at a time.
