Found some peace in my life today by doing my meditation readings this morning. Guess I need to keep doing that... it just starts my day off right.

I've been thinking about granite lately too. If you're out there girl, I hope you're doing well.

I've made it into a habit every morning that when I pass through the gate at work, I start saying out loud what I am grateful for. Well, I admit I don't remember to do it every single day, but I do it often, and it makes me feel good... you guys are often among the things I list. On any given day my list might include the blue sky, all the trees on our campus at work, you guys, t, my son, my friends, my health.... it changes around a lot.
Thanks for this!

Funny you should mention gratitude Art. My CBT T has given me a technique to make it through many crappy days at work. If something positive happens, write it down! Try to capture at least 3 things per day. Even if it was a friendly chat at the coffee machine or my boss was less of an *** than yesterday. It does seem to help my mood!

The snow we had has almost all melted but the dog walk was treacherous because there are unexpected icy patches.

I enjoy looking at the snow on the tops of the mountains surrounding my city from afar.

What is the best way to get rid of the snowballs that form between a dog's toes? Just let them melt? Not that I'm in blizzardville by any means just curious

I really liked this blog post on gratitude - http://wp.me/p6iGyk-5x
Basically, it talks about practiced gratitude, spontaneous gratitude and coerced gratitude.
Thanks for this!

I am so not pleased with my T today. Today we looked at a photo of me, my brother and my Grandmother on what I am told is a day where our biological parents were taking us for the weekend. We were not looking happy and my grandmother has hold of the hood of parka(anorak??) stopping me from running away. (This is a common motif in the photos me being held still)
Anyway i was talking about the photo and I started crying and then paniced and tried to give the photo back to my T but he just sat there looking at me for seemed like hours while i was siletly begging him to take the photo but he let me sit with it it was awful. My mind was a mess and couldn't focus and I don't understand why he let me sit there for so long without intervening. He said the way to get rid of panic was to face the thing that made us panic. Running away just gives more power to the thing we fear. I suppose he was right but I was really distressed. I told him it was too much but he said it was almost too much or something. I kept dissociating so we did grounding things. I may not be remembering this right.

Thanks argo. I feel better now. Funny how just having someone acknowledge you is comforting. Some extra hugs if you are ever in need of them.

No problem. I know what you mean, it's like a twist on that old philosophical chestnut;

If a person posts on a forum, but nobody's there to read it, does it...take up data?

I'm so sorry. It's very early here.
Thanks for this!
