How can you watch the news? I am seriously less depressed now I don't watch it. Means I can't talk with any knowledge of current events but then again I never could. I only learned the name of newish prime minister last night on the end of the news.

Give me time. For instance, I only just started paying attention to the Presidential election. So I'm still in the finding-it-amusing phase. That'll pass.

Now I am really annoyed. The window guy is really late and I need to go pick up school socks and pay for the girls school book scheme. I have rung the office and they were going to try to contact him to see how far away he is..

I try not to watch the news if I can help it. Too depressing. I look for positive stories online instead. Hubby watches it so I can't help but hear it sometimes. And they have CNN on in our break room at work, so during my lunch break I sort of hear it but I usually ignore it.

They cancelled overtime today for the rest of the week (yay!) so I need to let t know so I can go see her either tomorrow or thursday after work. I've been really figuring some stuff out about myself the last coupla days.

The little kitten is looking intently out the window at something in the backyard, I don't know what she is seeing, as I don't see anything out of the ordinary.... maybe she's just waiting for a bird to fly by or something....
Thanks for this!

The office has rung back and the window guy is not answering his phone which they have interpreted as him being "busy"

I watched the news tonight and was really sad about something I heard. Then a couple hours later, I found out it was a former coworker/friend that it had happened to. Then I felt so much worse (especially because I was slightly judgmental upon hearing what happened). Won't say what it was, because it's seriously triggering (certainly was to me...)

Watching The Profit. They're at a place that makes gourmet marshmallows. Now I want to learn how to make marshmallows! I'm looking for recipes now. It's funny I love to cook and bake, but I don't experiment much. I need to experiment more I guess. Marshmallows will be my next foray!
Thanks for this!

I tried to make marshmallows once. You can't make them in the heat as I found out. You need to make them in cooler weather or have air con.

Hi Couch!!

Stupid stupid growly. Just out of the hospital but I agreed to a phone interview at lunch today. Still licking my wounds from not getting the AZ job. Still fresh from ICU yet I'm doing it again. I was just treating the interview as good practice, to meet others in my field and get my name out there. But they seem to want me. So now I may be off scrambling to get it together for another interview.

I should rest and recoup. Sparky and I are even doing deeper work and touching upon stuff that was triggered by the hospital. Stuff that happened before age 5. He is handling trauma stuff exceedingly well for a CBT goals-and-checklist kind of guy. I want to lie low and do more work with him, let raise and bonus season come to pass THEN get busy looking again. But that would be the smart thing to do.

Good luck Growly! The best opportunities seem to come when you least expect them. Maybe this is the big break you really need

I can't sleep. So I tried doing a British-style cryptic crossword puzzle.

Cryptic doesn't even begin to describe it. "Watches Grissom cross the road" (6).

And now I'm lying in bed wondering who is Grissom (not Gus, surely?), why is he crossing the road, and who the heck is watching him?

I'm right there with you on the not sleeping, ATAT. And after your epiphany, please update us on Grissom. I'm curious!

The puppies represent the illusions and denials you want to hold onto.

AAAARRRGGGHHHH! I can't sleep. There are baby geckoes in my bed and i can hear the adult ones playing in the kitchen. There is tree frog in the toilet. The air con is struggling in the heat. Why did i choose to live in the tropics?
Apologies to all the cold and snowbound people.

I have felt something like this with my t before, shortly after she moved back here... for me it was anger at her for what our relationship is not. If that makes any sense. ETA: I am still in the process of learning how to instead be grateful for what it IS instead.
Thanks for this!
