I don't like snakes either. My go-to stress nightmares are about snakes.

My last business trip to the southwest (Arizona) I went hiking and almost stepped on a baby rattler. It turned out to be dead, which explains why it was just lying in the middle of the trail, but the contortions I did mid-air to avoid stepping on it when I finally noticed it would have qualified me to be the prima ballerina at the Moscow Ballet.

Sometimes I think struggling with depression gets a bit much and not a lot of harm (for me) is done in giving into it for a day or so. Today is that day. Also it has been very hot here and I am struggling with keep up fluids so maybe my lithium levels are out a bit.

Ugh. I couldn't sleep last night so I informed work this morning that I would work from home a couple of hours later in the day. Husband is home on vacation this week. I tried to work and he drove me crazy. All day long, he keeps running into my office and asking me questions, showing me purchases that he made. He bought a juicer and must have been in my office 6 different times wanting me to "try some". I hope I sleep good tonight because I cannot wait to go to work tomorrow.

I totally feel you on the annoying husband thing! I work from home for my job, and the days when my husband works from home--or especially when he's on vacation--it drives me crazy! He says he tries to stay out of the way, but I work in the living room, and he's up and down the stairs all day, it seems (we're in a townhouse where every room is basically its own floor, so lots of stairs). He's gotten better than he was--the worst was one time when I was working and he was on vacation, and he decided to take a nap on the loveseat across from where I was working! I was like, "Uh, could you maybe at least go upstairs instead of napping in front of me?"

Hope you get some sleep tonight!

We're off to an Epiphany party. That's what Lutheran's do when they don't have time in December for a Christmas party. Looking forward to some fun and fellowship with our church choir.

Thanks. I work from home every other Friday because my commute is long and my boss doesn't want me to get burned out. I also work from home from time to time if the weather is bad, or the trains aren't running for whatever reason, but I always try to make sure that I am not working from home on the days husband is home. When he is not home I enjoy working from home.

Sometimes, for me, giving in to it for a bit leads to me unexpectedly feeling much better afterwards. Hope it's the same for you

Well, gonna go out to my old job at Panera, see everyone, have lunch, and take 2 more tax tests, the silver and the gold. We'll see how this goes tomorrow. I have to pass the silver test to work past February 15 but I want to see how I do on the other one as well. Each one is just more detailed than the previous one but still open book and open internet. I'm hoping I pass both but I'll be happy just the silver.

Went to my AA meeting tonight, it was really good to see everyone. I had not been to the meeting for a month and a half because of Taco Bell. Now I get to focus on the tax job and learning all I can there so I can make it a yearly seasonal job. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Excited to try something new and nervous because it's so new to me. The manager is quite awesome.

Well, I need something sweet to eat but don't know what. Ice cream? Cookies? Snickers bar? ummm...? I dunno.

Hope everyone is doing well. I love reading the couch.

I wished a happy feast day to my aunt yesterday. Her sister brought up her kids celebrating it, so she was making a big dinner yesterday. Its when the italians get their presents brought by a scary ol gwammy .

My mother has just decided to guilt me about my future ex-husband.

Well, being home was nice while it lasted.

Well, technically Epiphany is the end of the Christmas season, so it's still Christmas, and the home we were in was still very much decorated for Christmas. Had a very nice time.

I just took down the last of my decorations. Did I do it too early?

Frankly I only took down what the cat and the kid hadn't destroyed already, if that absolves me.

Good night couch!

Two weeks is the maximum amount of time I can spend in my parent's house before I start getting homicidal

Two weeks - that is an eternity to spend with parents.
I used to barely make it 3 days.

The funny thing is both of the therapists I see now say they can't stand having their grown children (who moved out of town) home for more than 2-3 days. One said they quickly run out of things to talk about and the other just said she liked her children better from a distance.

I've been here a little over 24 hours.

Well, I guess I can hang out in the kitchen and eat cake without being made to feel guilty about a grown man being stuck all alone in a foreign country that he chose to move to of his own accord.

I am impressed that you decorated at all in the middle of the home improvement projects.

Thanks! Wanted it to look more like a home than a construction site. Probably failed miserably. . . But the girls seem to have had a good time in spite of it, so it worked out!

I won't be able to sleep wondering if I've written a grammatically incorrect sentence up there!

'Seem to have had' or 'seemed to have' a good time?

Too brain fried. Good night!

I like seemed to have had better because it's more elegant.

I imagine it's a question of tense and nuance; the second is past meaning back then they seemed to have a great time at the time; the first means that in the present they seem to have had a great time in the past - they're still talking about how great it was, etc.

Sorry for the lecture!
Thanks for this!
