I guess this ambivalence (?) is mostly within the NHS rather than with private T's - at least I hope so.

My tolerance for being abused and disrespected by professionals is zero now, whereas before it was far too high

What a naive little bear I was

I probably "deserved" all the abuse I got

I couldn't describe my whole "history" in 10 minutes to someone who didn't give a crap. (IRL)

Mea culpa

The meds they "put" me on have messed my body up so badly that ......

I hope so too. As a government bureaucracy the NHS is subject to budgeting pressures to not "overtreat" patients. My experience is not with the NHS but with US systems (military and VA+Medicare).

My Take: Your earliest abusers moulded you in ways that increased the likelihood of you receiving and tolerating more abuse in the future. It is horrific that some of that later abuse came from people who were supposed to help you heal.

And people wonder why I am so distrusting of these types of people they talk to you for 5 minutes and then say they know exactly what is wrong with you. Um no I haven't told you the half of it so how could you know anything. I am sorry things are so hard for you fuzzy bear.

I read it can take up to 10 years for a therapist to give an accurate diagnosis.

My therapist fired me for not being sick enough. I was cool with that because except for being an ear to whine into she wasn't really helping. Apparently my flavor of BPD is DBT resistant Too "sick" / not "sick enough"
