Had a really good, positive T session today, but it's left me a bit worn out and wordless.
I the couch...

ETA: that ellipsis means there is so much I would want to say, if I could.

I'm glad you had a good and positive session! Sometimes the really good ones can make me more exhausted than the less-than-good ones...

(I love using ellipsis. I use them all the time...! See? tee hee)

so I posted a selfie of my new haircut on fb saying it makes me feel younger, and got a bunch of likes, and a few comments one of which was from that guy I had a crush on in high school, who said "You look like you are 12...good for you!" interesting use of ellipsis. Now that I am looking for them. I hope he was being funny. I think he was.

ETA: I replied to him "12? You are too funny!" and he replied "Okay, well maybe pushing 14..."

Yes. He was definitely being funny.
Thanks for this!

Can we get a pic of the new cut too Art? Wanna see

The ellipsis is the ultimate utilitarian punctuation mark. Endlessly functional. Just like the thoughts in my head... Or not

So, I have been a part of this mommy message board since my daughter was a baby (she is almost 8). Yesterday somebody started a thread wanting an update on people's lives.. What's going on with family, careers etc. every time I read it I gag. Everybody has the most intelligent child, gifted and talent grams, travels sports teams, competition dance teams, marriages are wonderful oh and we just built are new dream home.. That kind of stuff.. And I just want to post the real crap going on with my family, you know I struggle with my PTSD/bpd.. How I was almost hospitalized again, or how Sucidal ideation is a constant struggle.. Or how I doubt highly my ability to parent my son who deals with ASD/adhd/anxiety.. Or you know how my marriage is on the rocks and has been for awhile. It just makes me wonder if anybody else would get honest and say yeah there are some great things, but I am struggling with X,y,z.. Or am I supposed to believer that their are some people who lives are all rainbows and puppies??

It sounds like these people are over compensating. There lives are probably worse than yours.

Can I PLEASE PLEASE say AMEN to your post??!!!! Facebook makes me angry!! People ask how you are in public... (Hah!) and they don't really want to know how you are. They could give a flying flip...they just want to do the polite thing and ask. UGH!!!

I truly wish for rainbows and butterflies myself but if it's not...it's not. It is what it is. Sometimes I wish the people that asked really cared what was going on and not being superficial.

Sorry. That just came flying out. Couch 111 - The Simple, Clear, and Informative Couch

People who have nothing to brag about tend to keep quiet. Or make something up.

I think it is sort of natural for people to want to publicly state the good things going on and keep the harder parts more private. I would be more surprised if someone posted about their kids going to juvi, their spouse's cheating, and their bankruptcy etc.

SD .... Poll Creator - I liked Lola's idea on Granite's thread about a meltdown during session poll. I am curious about this as well.

No crime. I'm just ridiculous and my reality is not worth validating.

Sorry. I'm really feeling very down today. Fortunately I can work from home, and H is away all day and won't get back until very late (or possibly very early tomorrow).

I have made an attempt. Screwed it up and have tried again.

If I use a coupon to get a $9.99 haircut- because I don't have $16.00 for one...
do I still tip the hairdresser? How much?

I always tip the pre-coupon amount but if that's not possible, any tip would be appreciated.

I thought tipping in the US was sort of only in the hospitality area. Do you tip everyone? We don't tip anyone over here, it such a curious notion. I understand that hospitality workers don't get paid much but surely hairdressers who are self-employed ( or at least rent a chair in a salon) don't need it. Who else gets tips?
Thanks for this!
