Stupid question. Do any of you believe in true love? Sorry. I know that is just a stupid, crazy question. Just a random thought here.

There's also higher risk for mental health issues growing up and there's still impact in adulthood. Because of all that stress when one "should" have still been gestating in the womb.

I'm sure some effects are in-utero as well like how there's effects on fetus if mother drinks, does drugs or is plain very anxious and depressed.

Maybe your mother was under high stress while on bed rest etc because risky pregnancy.

Also, I don't know your history but don't discount an upbringing of emotional neglect.

Thanks for these responses, Quiet! I was terribly hungover yesterday and could not bear to turn on my computer

I get how being born very premature is probably pretty traumatic for a baby, but to effect your whole life?! 4 months? I am wary, but in the end i suppose it doesn't matter, because I am who I am at the moment regardless of what did or did not happen.

I suppose it doesn't matter, as you say, but maybe it should be recognized? I mean, if for those same four months you had been deprived of essential vitamins and nutrients, the physical consequences would have been lifelong. Why wouldn't the same be true for emotional consequences?
Thanks for this!

I do. I just wish I felt it with my h. I mean I love him, but.... I don't love him like I loved before I broke my own heart by being to afraid to be ME and stay with J. But that's an old, old story..... I made my bed.....

I do. And more letters because "I do" is too short.

I thought your love comment was brilliant. As is "peeing on someone's picnic."

True love? How are we defining that?

Way back when, shortly before I left the ex I had a conversation with T about love. I told him he was lucky to have a great relationship (there was some self-disclosure involved - I didn't pull that out of the air...).
Now... Well, now I think it's as much about bravery as about luck. You make your own luck if you can just be brave enough. Easier said than done of course...

I had to re-download tapatalk on my iPad because it started crashing like crazy. The updated version is driving me nuts. Why do they have to keep changing these things?!!

Gladly.. I hear your neck of the woods are good for people with environmental allergies. And I think the kiddos would keep each other busy. But- you have to promise to keep the creep crawlies, that this upstate ny girl isn't used to seeing!

I just started to type 'went' and tapatalk autocorrected it to 'wine'

Went with the eight year old on her field trip on Friday. The bus broke down on the freeway. Ever been trapped on a bus with 30 or so slightly scared kids and no a/c in Phoenix heat. Fun I tell ya. And then they managed to stuff 60 kids and 12 adults into the one remaining bus for the trip home. All I can say is at least it wasn't July...

No problem. One good thing about living in an apartment - I call the office at the first sign of a bug and the bug guy come in for free. No bugs in my house

Oh, and I left out a bit! We hit traffic on the way home because there was an accident - there was a car on fire on the side of the road. I kid you not...

I took the eight year old to the splash pad in the park as soon as we got home and I got right in there with her. I needed those buckets of water dumped on my head after that...
