The ex is talking about bringing the kids to Disney in July. If it comes off I'd have a whole free weekend to play with... I haven't had two free days to rub together since I don't know when...

I find a certain amount of agreement is necessary if the relationship is to succeed.

We agree on most things.. This is just one place where we don't see eye to eye on.

I dunno -- I perceive neutrality as a profound act of respect and a certain attempt at authenticity.

Then again, that is basically the no. 1 reason I'm still with my T -- she rarely ever attempts any sort of an emotional reaction, and the times that she has, she recovered rather quickly and got back to her usual impassive self (with my active support).

So the guy I'm seeing said to come over at 9, but he isn't home. Someone else let me into the apartment building, and he doesn't lock his apartment, so I'm waiting in his room. None of his roommates are home. It's 23 past nine and I've texted him and haven't heard back. Now I'm worrying that he got in a car accident or is dead or something. Gah! I need to know what's going on or I'm going to freak out.

T emailed me this morning.. all positive, blech.. talking about wonderful goal wanting to live for myself.. you are working hard.. blech.. He has got to get discouraged sometimes, it would be nice if he told me every once in a while..
Would you like him to tell you he is discouraged?

I can also perceive neutrality as some sort of negative emotion, which is what happened with my last T. As much as I am loathe to admit it, I need a little humanity and genuineness. My T isn't all Pollyanna at all, but sometimes I need to hear "You are not a horrible person" from time to time.

Has he shown up? If not, and if he's not responding to your texts, yeah, I'd go ahead and leave.

Also, he doesn't lock his apartment? That's kinda weird. (Unless you live in an area where there's, like, zero crime.
Thanks for this!

Because he is a normal human being that feels discouraged when things aren't going as planned.. I don't understand it would be out of the realm of possibility for my t to be discouraged with where I am mentally right now.
