Hey fellow couchies! I've been a bit quiet lately but still reading and being supportive in a non-verbal manner. I'll try to hop on once a day and just post, even though I have nothing earth shattering to mention.

Went to the retina specialist today, and was so blind by the dilation I had to come back home and wait for it to wear off. The scarring is in a "not very important" part of the retina, not near the macula and therefore nothing to worry about. He said its so minor that my other eye doctors probably saw it and didn't mention it. Also no idea what caused it, probably a virus. This is so surreal to me! Like, I never knew about it, but now that you tell me not to worry, what else is lurking in my body unbeknownst to me?

And on that note, must find food, the clamor of my stomach is beginning to get me down.

Hugs for those in need, sedate nods for those anti-hug Couchies.

I've forgotten. Who's the vet here? My nephew's dog was just bitten by a copperhead on the snout. Haven't heard more. I'm assuming he's on the way to a vet. Chesapeake Bay Retriever. The most perfect dog ever. Hoping he'll be okay.

I hate my phone. Ever since I dropped it, it does strange things like turn auto correct on, open up apps, open up sms window randomly. Now it is ringing random people> I can't stand this. It sits on my desk most of the day I hardly touch it. AARRGGHHH!

Hope it goes well! I also hope you are taking care of yourself and not letting your father push his responsibilities with your step mother off on you.

Granite, many people were just getting off work, heading home or making dinner when you posted (at least in the US). It was not that people do not care.
Thanks for this!

i hope if they are common to the area that they will have anti venom and the dog has gotten to the vet in time for it to work well with no after affects

Good for you for sticking up for your son! Your father can stick it up his ***!! Let him sulk and not talk to you. If he is not talking to you, he cannot ask you for favors.
Thanks for this!

Well I have one contact for a potential T that is the only promising one so far

Cons
He's my age or younger--I prefer older/experienced
He's handsome--was kinda going for homely to ward off weird transference
He's an LPC, prefer PHD
Not sure if he is a worksheet CBT guy or more flexible CBT guy
Not sure if he has had his own therapy
Not sure his exposure to psychodynamic training

Pros-
Most receptive T to reach back out to me yet, seems friendly not cold
Seems "liberal friendly" no trace of any bizarre practices (He outright does not do Christian counseling)
His areas of expertise seem to have enough overlap with my issues
He takes what will be my insurance
He is very close to work and most likely new home

I get a free 15-30 min consult with him and decided to do it tomorrow as my other moving plans are held up until my trip next week to find an apt. Feeling so bad I need a distraction. It may be a bad idea to look for therapists while mourning the old one.

Evening, couch. Spent the afternoon playing with my mom's dog. She invited me out to lunch and I stopped by after we ate to see her dog. Ended up playing with him for hours. Dogs are so cute and funny. He's a mutt, but cute as anything. He'll be 2 on Friday.

I was bad and logged into facebook (have not been on in over a year) to look at pdoc's profile. I came across it looking at the psych office's facebook page. He likes some strange pages, makes me think a little differently about him. I should NOT have done this, but I was curious, since it was accessible from the clinic's facebook page and the clinic's page is not wrong to look at, since that is a "professional" thing. I just wish I would have not seen his likes and comments. One of them said "working on a saturday. to many patients" It was all in lowercase and used the wrong "to". Odd for someone who is supposed to be educated. And to come right out and say "too many patients" seems a little harsh, since he can control whether or not he will accept a new patient. He can say no if he feels he has too many. Just weird.
