I don't believe anyone here is asking you to be a doormat. I think people myself included are just saying building a life of your own may be a better option for you than this struggle with your family. If you don't want to work than volunteering or taking on a hobby and meeting new people may make you happier in the long term. You may be justified in feeling wronged but going down the path of making people submit just seems like it doesn't leads to a place that will make you happy.

Unfortunately it seems that the OP is not finding the kind of support they are looking for in this thread. To slam members because they don't give you the answers you want to hear is unsupportive and inappropriate. This has certainly gone past the realm of psychotherapy as well and because of these things, we are now closing the thread.
