I don't know if my T is judging me wrongly or just throwing it out there or what but he's usually right on.. so I couldn't shake something he suggested about me last night after session. I was up until 2am thinking "am I this way???"..

He kind of painted this like it was me and not so bad but when i googled it, it doesn't sound like me at all???

Has anyone had their T do something like this? ugh..

It's hard when we feel like t understood something really wrong. I'm sorry it is feeling that way with your t.

Could you talk to t about it and get more details from him? I've had similar reactions with my t and found that talking it out helps. Sometimes I misunderstand her, and sometimes t is just off-base totally. Generally, both times it helps to have conversations around the misunderstanding.
Thanks for this!

Keep in mind the internet tends to maximize the severity of any symptom or condition, for both physical and mental health. If he made it sound not so bad, to him it probably isn't. I guess I would want to ask him why he drew whatever conclusion he did about you.

For awhile my psychiatrist I wouldn't say "mis-judged" but misunderstood me. I had an undiagnosed sleep disorder at the time, and it started flaring up on me. I was in for followup and was explaining my depression at the time as losing physical energy from my fatigue, which depleted my mental energy and ability to cope, and then finally my emotional wellness went with it. i saw it as a progression; that I physiologically could not be happy because the simple work of going through my day on limited energy reserves, it was not possible. She felt that I needed to change my opinions/beliefs about my fatigue (I was already doing CBT for my anxiety etc) but she didn't really understand that there was no CBT'ing away as my depression then was a symptom of my sleep disorder.

Luckily, I got diagnosed and treated; and she finally came around and understood as she saw things change
Thanks for this!

Thanks everyone, I am definately going to talk to him.. Its super hard when you do trust someones expertise at such a level, they are usually right on, then they tell you something that really doesn't sound like you at all?? it makes me think.. am I totally blind to this? do I have my defenses up , or is it just his human ability to make a mistake.. or just a slight suggestion.. maybe its this.. I guess I really personalized the statement and got freaked out this could be me.
