There are many washes in different places all around town, they really do help with all the rain.

ETA: It is baby gecko as he keeps getting a little bigger each time.

Pretty much, yes. Most of them appear to be dry riverbeds most of the year, some of them are actually lined with concrete, some of them (like this one) go across low points in roads. All meant to channel the tons of rain we get during a monsoon storm and they work pretty well.

I have just read an article that says the benefits of flossing are negligible. Well, that's...(does some quick math) 38 days' worth of my life I'll never get back.

Others have told me to be "truly grateful and see abundance rather than scarcity" and "At least it wasn't X."

Someone close to me told me to "snap out of it" and "stop wallowing."

I feel I'm just being told by people my pain doesn't matter, that I should quit whining because I've never experienced anything "bad enough", since "bruises were common. Now people report when there's only a mark!" and "Now words are abuse now".

I guess people in my life are unintentionally stirring feelings of invalidation.

Text from my oldest son this morning (he is a postal carrier): "If ya'll hear screaming coming from the north today, it is because the 8 inch tarantula I am delivering has escaped its box and is trying to kill me!"

LOL!!

I have become rather infatuated with the TV series Foyle's War Anybody else watching it? (or watched it, perhaps - the final season aired over a year ago - I'm watching it on Netflix.)

I've watched a few of them. I liked them but got distracted with something else I guess. Thanks for reminding me.

Im sorry you still have to be around all those people. Im a little older, to where the kids are grandparents themselves now - most all except me. And it feels as if, by not following the usual path, i remind them of their meannesses. They want to silence those memories. But im not saying anything, im just existing. If they feel guilt, thats on them.

Afternoon, couch.

I saw C this morning. His mom's cleaning lady came and he hates to vacuum cleaner noise so we went on an outing. We went to Micheal's and bought some pink glow in the dark silly putty. Then, we went to Books-A-Million and read 3 books. We went to buy them with his visa gift card, but their credit card reader was down, so they said they would hold the books for us if we wanted to come back later. So, we went and got lunch at Chick-Fil-A. He had his usual apple juice, chicken nuggets, and waffle fries. I had a coke, chicken nuggets, and waffle fries. We went back to Books-A-Million, they said corporate told them their reader was back up and running, so we tired to buy the books, it was still down. I asked if cash was working, they said yes, so I decided to treat C to a back to school gift and went to the ATM and got cash out of my bank account and bought the books for him. They were buy 2 get one free. Elementary school level books, but that is about all he can comprehend and he needs pictures. We got a "Why Do Dogs Bark?" book, a dinosaur book, and a Finding Dory book. He picked them out. We read them in the store to kill time (give the cleaning lady time) and make sure he liked them.

We went home and the next shift was already there and waiting. The cleaning lady was still there, so the next shift decided that she would take C on a bike ride after I left. I had a fun day with C. Back again tomorrow.

Grandma texted me while I was out with C asking if I wanted to meet for lunch. Even though I was eating Chick-Fil-A at the time, I said sure. We met at an Italian restaurant after I was done with C. I ate a full lunch there as well...I guess I was hungry...two lunches. Lol.

I am home now and relaxing. No work tonight, so I should be able to try to clean some. Hopefully, I will not procrastinate on it. I might as well start now.

Later couch.
Thanks for this!
