I finally got around to opening the formal termination letter from Smaug the ex-psychiatrist. It smacks of nothing so much as cya, and ignores logical thinking - e.g., if she was so convinced I was in danger because I stated a desire to take a break from therapy, and I refused to come see her, why not send the police to check on me, etc.? Or why she was willing to wait a whole week for this so-called emergency appointment?

Something tells me she just wanted to get paid for an appointment, and that it was not about my welfare but her need to be the boss.

There is a kitten in our crawl space and we have not been able to lure it out from the insulation and duct work. We have been putting wet food up among the ducts and hoping it would start coming to us. Going to go set up a live trap today. Because we need another kitten in our lives, in addition to the ones we kept from the first two litters of feral orphans. Sigh.

Lol una! It is a black tortoise shell with little white mittens. The pup caught her. Luckily pup LOVES kittens and just wants to carry them around. She (the kitten) is settled into the kids' bathroom munching down on wet cat food and purring loudly. Friendly and fiesty. Not sure how she ended up under our house.

Very slow at work today so far. I've taken 4 calls in as many hours!! Getting lots of reading done. H wants to go to urgent care for his knee but insists on waiting until i get home. I don't understand why he can't go by himself while i am at work, since he is off today. Sigh. The swelling has gone down a lot but it still hurts so he is worried. I'm thinking if he's really that worried why didn't he go as soon as they opened today? I don't mean to sound heartless but it's his knee. He's been up and around on it since it swelled up, not taking care of it. Suddenly even though it's looking better he has to go to the dr but won't until i can go with him. He has talked himself into thinking they are going to hospitalize him. For what, i don't know. If he's been walking on it since it happened and it's looking better, i can't imagine. Rant over.

Does anyone want to participate in the naming of the kitten? She is very friendly and has no fear of the other cats or dogs or any of us. She purrs loudly. She is mostly black with some oranges and tiny white mittens in front and white stockings on the back legs. Total attention monger who will crawl all over you and head butt until you pay attention.

Oh and she is very vocal. Talks a lot. To the point where she would annoy me if we kept her.

I told Smaug she was domineering. That's like the adjective of choice for interfering mothers-in-law.

I think you mean imperious?

Would it help to remember that you often feel this way and it always passes?

Had a fight with H over a clogged kitchen sink. I was just trying to help (reading suggestions for unclogging it from a handyman site), he got angry because I was trying to yell over running water. He told me to shut the **** up, which really upset me. Then he seemed to get angrier when I explained how disrespectful that was. Of course our daughter heard all this, and I was crying, and she came over and gave me a hug because "Mommy's sad." Wish I had remained calmer...I feel like I just made him angrier by trying to stand up for myself. And then I was also yelling in front of our daughter, which isn't good...

Well I got though Thanksgiving with my family intact with no meltdowns and no need to excuse myself/run away.

Had a conversation with siblings about my mother that I think will help cement the idea that I'm not fundamentally defective in a way that my T saying "you are not defective" has not.

(rant ahead, feel free to ignore)
Not only is my h a hypochondriac, he is also a passive-aggressive poop. He could have gone to the dr during the day today while I was at work, or we could even go this evening, but no. He's watching some movie on tv and now wants to go tomorrow morning. Meaning I will have to reschedule t at the last minute because he needs me to go with him because he has convinced himself they are going to hospitalize him. His knee is not even swollen at all right now. But he said it still hurts and claims that it is warmer than his other knee. I cannot feel a temperature difference. Of course, he has been vocal for the past year that he wants me to quit therapy and I'm sure this is his way of showing his displeasure that I still go. I was going to take a break both because I want to and to mollify him somewhat, but now he can go take a flying leap off a short pier. I'm not taking a break. **** him. I'll go as long as I ****ing please.
(rant over)

Art, you don't need to reschedule your appointment. Your h can wait until you're ready to take him or he can go on his own -- he really can.
