Does anyone else find themselves pushing their T away when things get too difficult, or intense or when you're scared you might get hurt.

All the time, I look for any excuse and find it easier to blame my t. She did this, she did that, rather than admit she is getting a bit close now and I am scared.
It take courage to stay and work through it when they hit a nerve or get too close. Is this happening for you now Loco? |

Yeah we have a five week break coming up. I'm scared I'm going to miss T too much so I'm pushing her away instead.

Yes. Much like a young baby that throws it's toys out the buggy. They're not doing it to be rid of the toy. They're doing to see if it comes back.

Pushing her away might hurt you more. Is she aware of you pushing her away, perhaps you both could look at this together and come up with a different way? |

Yes I do that too. And I've found the best thing I can do when I'm pushing t away and don't want to go to a session is to make myself go anyway and talk about those feelings. Not saying it's easy, because of course it's not (I cry and sigh a lot and hem and haw over getting the words out but eventually I do, and it DOES get easier each time it comes up) but it's always been for the best in my case.
