Well I hope this is the right place for this. I've been seeing my pdoc for little over a year, and bluntly we don't get along. I've found reasoning behind it. She as all pdocs know all about medicines and how they work with the mentally ill, but what I don't think pdocs know is the person. My Therapist and I both agree my condition is anti-medicine...basicly meds dont help it,...i've been taking anywhere from anxiety meds to anti-depressents, to OCD style meds,.etc since I was 12...NOTHING HAS WORKED.

The last visit with my pdoc was astoundingly awful, I told her how I had felt,...and this was about 2 months ago she seemed to say no you dont feel that way you feel like this....I was like no...she said/says I have OCD problems...I will agree I have obsessive thoughts,...but she leaves out the things that are also important like my social problems, my depression which is what I believe leads to the obsessive thoughts, and a few other things....

I'm not saying she is totally wrong,...else I wouldnt keep going...all i know is my laast visit I ripped up the prescription after I got out...I cried...so so bad...and my mom and dad where shocked...they rushed back got a new prescription and told my pdoc...i'm not sure what she said....so now for 2 months i've taken these meds...actually 3 months I think...no luck...i want them to help more then an astranaut wnats to go to the moon....but they're not helping....

thanks for listening

(((Moonkin)))

I also vote for a new pdoc. Tell parents you insist on trying out someone else.

(Tell your Dad you want someone to talk to man-to-man, that will work!)

(((Moonkin))) Sounds really hard to deal with both this pdoc and that meds have not worked for you for years, despite trying them since age 12. Since both you and your T seem agreed that meds will not help you, why do you keep going to a pdoc? It sounds like you're beating a dead horse. If meds won't help, maybe just stick with therapy and stop seeing the pdoc. Is that possible? Or do your parents insist you be on meds? Maybe your T could talk to them and explain that a non-drug approach is more likely to help you. Good luck and take care.
