Welcome to the couch, old and new! A place to hang out - sometimes you get immediate feedback, sometimes you don't.

---------

Shouting, "Cool Whip" tends to bring others out from between the cushions if you're feeling lonely.

This is a chatty thread. All are welcome. We're kind of psychologically oriented, sometimes. We try to be supportive. At times we discuss what that means.

It’s a place to plop down on the couch when you come home from work or wherever, or wake up in the middle of the night, or check in at lunch, rant a bit or not, and be among friends.

We advise you not to drink or drug and text your therapist ("t") - we speak from experience...

Sometimes the thread moves fast and you might get overlooked; sometimes it moves slowly and all you hear are crickets. Sometimes you get hugged or thanked pages later. So if it's a bigger question, you might want to start a new thread.

So jump in the campervan and join the roadtrip.
Thanks for this!

"Carry on, my wayward son..."

What a long strange trip its been. Apparently my call yesterday making an appt for quote tomorrow came from across the international date line, so while i was there today, i was 24 hrs early. I am exhausted. But tomorrow i get to wake up and do it all over again.

I booked with a new T for Janurary 5th, but I also just found out that the people who interviewed me last Thursday for the job I've been hoping to get wants me to come do 3 trial days this week. So that means it's become even more possible that I'll get hired. If that's the case-the new T will only work for about a month-then the schedule and her availability won't jive. So depending on what happens this week-if I get hired-then I don't even know if it will be worth going to the first appointment with this T. There are not many T's that take my insurance as my insurance is very limited. I do not have out of network benefits, either. I think the job needs to take priority over getting the new T.

New couch yay!!

We had another power outage at work today, so fun because if we're on a call it drops when the computer goes off. Now our main system we use is down er "updating" so even though powers back on we have to tell people to call back. They love that. Not.

Hey new couch. Tired. Going to nephew's 15th birthday party tonight. I'm sure that will be a blast. Not.

Jersey I think job trumps T, but I'm not currently seeing a T, so my opinion might be biased.

Hugs for Crocus and BCM!

The woman called me a pragmatist today - and then asked about it in the oddest way. I have no idea what she meant.

Like, why are you a pragmatist?

You should have asked her if she meant pragmatist or pragmaticist.

No - it was "You are a pragmatist - how are you handling X"

Implying that a pragmatist couldn't handle X?

Pragmatists should be able to handle anything.

I don't think that was what she was implying - but perhaps it was. God knows I did not understand how she put it. I did tell her I had no idea what she was asking.
She, as usual, could not or chose not to explain so I went on to something else.
I give her an inch (let her say something) and this is how she repays me.

No - it was definitely not complimentary the way the woman said it.
It was a bit mocking.

I went Googling, trying to find a picture of a wayward couch for us visual couchies.

The image of the "human shelf" is still in my floating memory, so I was a bit skiddish. Couch 127: The Wayward Couch

I did find this and thought it was funny.

it was 'ugly sweater day' at work today. i don't have a sweater and don't have the money to waste on one so i took the tree skirt off the floor and attached a few ornaments to it and wore it like a cape. and my sup put the tinsel around my head.
