Feeling happy with my new choices for Christmas. So very thankful for the peace that I'm feeling from it. Still a bit wobbly but it's going to be a great Christmas with the ones I love.

Thank you guys for being here. You help me more than you know.

I'm dropping dead in a minute, spent the entire day ferrying my sister around shopping. For someone who recently had surgery she is extra full of energy. I am one big ache. Good night Couchies.

Tipsy from two glasses of wine at family dinner. Maybe I should tipsy-text someone - not discouraged by Couch rules!

Then the rules need to be tightened!

Huge family eruption. One fam member wants me to submit and be silent so we can heal and go back to the way things were (yanno, the good old days of suppression and denial). I said, Oh, you mean when I was shut out of everything and shunned? That option actually wouldn't be a problem for me because then I could just walk away, but that won't work for them either, because I am the main caregiver. And also, being silent would allow them to walk scott free, without accounting for past abuse, and that's not going to happen. Not anymore. Merry Christmas everyone, bring it on.

Morning couchies, thanks again to growly for taking away my phone last night, as I successfully avoided contacting t. I finished the first glass of wine and instead of having a 2nd I went to bed, and pretty much passed out from feeling so emotionally wiped, slept good last night and actually feel back to my normal sparkly self this morning. The cumulation of all the mean callers from the whole week just added up to one big trigger in me yesterday by the end of my shift and that's why I was sitting in my car shaking after I left work yesterday, why I wanted t last night. I had to sit there for about 15 minutes before I felt like I could drive. It was a weird week, but it is over now, and I feel a lot better this morning. Thanks, couchies.

I was not tight, I was tipsy!

((rr)) - but, can I say "Merry Christmas everyone, bring it on" is the most awesome holiday greeting ever?

I'm envisioning a line of Couch Christmas cards - you know, for when we go commercial - with like two reindeer locking antlers on the cover or two kids fighting over a present and inside, "Merry Christmas, bring it on!"
Thanks for this!

I can see myself passive-aggressively sending such a card to my family.

We have to somehow catch the kitten this morning, have a vet appointment for her yearly vaccinations, I was ssupposed to take her last weekend when h was out of town but I couldn't catch her by myself (it's a two-person job, she's quite wily!) so had to reschedule for today. Hopefully we will catch her. Have to corner her in the kitchen probably. Oh, h is ready to start the process so here we go!

Gloved hand is punching a tree. Ornaments flying. Cat hanging from branch with dagger claws drawn. Caption: Let the healing begin!

I always corral my cats by putting the carrier in the bathroom, usually a few days before so they get used to it being there, then when it's time picking the cat up as though nothing unusual were happening, strolling into the bathroom, shutting the door...and then it's much easier to get them in the carrier because there's nowhere to run and hide.
Thanks for this!

It only took a few minutes between h & i chasing her around the main room (closed all other doors) to catch her. Vet visit was a success! Of course she is pouting now. Lol

How are you holding up, Stopdog? Is there anything that we could say or do to help you feel better?

UGH. I left my Seroquel at home, and slept about 5 seconds last night. So. Tired. And I have to endure my grandparents' house tonight.

So since we were tight on space putting the small Christmas tree on top of the new puppies crate seemed like a good idea. It was not. It was quite a bad idea. The end.
