You should definitely get that checked out. Not to freak you out, but could be something serious going on with your eyes. Does it seem to be in both eyes or just one?

And are they there all or most of the time? If it's just occasionally, could be optical migraine (I get those sometimes).

Hi, couch! I haven't had a lot of time/energy to do much of anything this week outside of work. All of my classes are taking their post tests this week. Then next week 3 of my classes have their state standardized test in my subject. I'm looking at progress nightly, adjusting plans accordingly. My brain is swimming.

I'm meeting with T tomorrow, and I'm not sure how productive I'll be able to be in session. But it's extra, and the only time he had available.

I really just wanted to pop in and say I hope y'all are all doing well. Hugs to anyone who wants or needs them.

Last park day today. Pool day tomorrow, then flight on Friday night. I've enjoyed being stateside but I have missed my routine lots. It's been cool staying up so late on the couch.
I know I've been on here a lot considering I'm on vacation but I've been holding onto PC as one slight element of familiarity and routine.

I just took some extremely satisfying whacks at my punching bag with my baseball bat. From both sides of the plate.

No wonder No. 2 was too scared to meet with me.

Were you planning to bring the bat?

got home from t about 15 mins ago. really good session as usual lately! I shared with her about Saturday (my shamanic practitioner stuff) and she enjoyed hearing about it. Then she thanked me for the very heartfelt email I sent her 2 weeks ago after my session, she said she didn't respond to it because there just really wasn't anything she could say, because she's always so conscious of the whole "email isn't private" thing and that she also had just taken an ethics class and did not want to seem to get into doing therapy by email. I told her I just figured she didn't get it, because of the weird error I got when I sent it that made it look like it didn't send. (eta: of course I did not elaborate on the "why isn't she responding?!" that played through my head for days after!) She said it was very touching or something like that. Then the rest of the time we worked on the dream I had last night which is more of the needing to get in touch with my animas stuff and it was quite fascinating. Once again I wish I had a recording of today. I can't near remember everything, even though I took notes. Oh yeah we also talked about several things that I remembered her saying last time, that I felt needed discussion. Of course I scheduled again for next week because I'm getting a bonus (finally! it's from 4th quarter last year!) on friday's paycheck. I guess for now I'm just going to stop fighting it and admit that I want to go there and I very much value this work and her input into it and see where it goes from here.

(Of course I realize that this is ME talking, and next week I will probably be saying that I need to quit again. Don't you all just love me? )

I envy you. A few years ago T2 advised me to get a foam bat and hit my bed with it (to help me get some of my anger out). It was kinda ok, but my cats were displeased & I had to be careful b/c of my back issues, so it was difficult to get any really good whacks in.

T1 told me that he once had a client who would buy cheap dinner plates and drop/throw them off of her balcony on the second story. I don't really have the setup for that and the cleanup sounds like a *****, but I really like that idea.

That plate thing, I did that in college a couple times - well, I didn't drop them from a balcony, but stood on the driveway of my apartment and slammed them at the ground. It was very satisfying. And my roommate cleaned them up.

The plate thing is very stereotypically Greek. There are lots of YouTube videos if you want to live vicariously.

Future ex smashed so many glasses and plates that I bought plastic plates and glasses instead. I don't know why I did that as opposed to leaving a lot earlier.

Evening couch. I am home from CVS and caught up on the couch. Got notified today that the morning testing session I am on "back-up" for tomorrow has been changed to administering for a teacher who will be absent. Fun. So I will be testing all day. Morning session, lunch, then the early start session for kids with extended time, which they rarely take...so I am stuck for at least an hour after testing is over trying to get them to stay calm and not disturb other rooms that may still be testing.

The morning group (even though they are 8th graders) should be fairly simple though as it is a class of gifted students. They typically take tests seriously as they want to do well and show what they know, so I probably won't have over half of them finishing in 10 minutes (of a 2 hour test) and making noises the rest of the session like I do with the gen ed and special ed kids. I'm sure there are still gifted students that act out too...it's just less likely.

isn't it funny how even a really positive, feel-good session can still leave you feeling exhausted? although i did talk an awful lot this evening. maybe that's why i'm so tired. i'm heading to bed.... night couchies! and hugs to those who want!

I haven't thrown dinner plates.

But, I did hang out with a friend who owns a couple of guns -- we set up a whole lot of really nice porcelain plates (gotten from an old house that seemed to be rotting away in the countryside) and shot at them.

It started out being incredibly satisfying to see the plates shatter but after a while, it got super boring (at least for me) -- the plates were big enough to be easy shots. And so, we went back to trying to hit the self-reversing targets (and mostly failed miserably at it).
