About half the time (or more) people don't even know which one is the bassoon. I will admit that the double reeds can be in an area of their own. The bassoon players are not as odd as the oboists. Or the harpists (not a double reed obviously - just odd).

I played crumhorn, kortholt and dulcian in a renaissance group in college.

No sackbut?

I play a moderate amount of early music but sackbut just gets me every time.

Thank you. So am I! One of the top best decisions I have ever made in my adult life was attending my first circle with them back in 2013. Never would have had the nerve to go and do that if not for therapy. Another of the top best decisions of my adult life - going to therapy.

Hey couch! I'm up at 1:30 am researching vacuums. Does anyone have/love/loathe a Dyson? It feels like buying a yacht, thinking of spending that much on a vacuum!

Got my haircut this morning, feeling much less shaggy. She said it's so fun cutting mine, as opposed to a normal layered cut or the wash and sets that she does most often, because of all the angles and tricky bits of wacky growth patterns that make her feel so satisfied when she gets them to behave. Ha! I told her since I went short I want it to be fun, and it certainly is that.

Good night couch!

Boo, powered on my laptop and the screen is having a uniform green tint over everything. Think something got loose on the inside.

It's happened with my workstation at work before, when the display cable is loose. Looks like I have to take my laptop in to a service center, which are all in industrial areas and I'm not a driver.

Pretty sure it isn't a software problem, because I've checked everything and am running the latest display drivers.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Sorry

Having a broken laptop sucks. My last one broke 2 days after the guarantee expired. Do you still have guarantee? Repairs can be unbelievably costy

Are there no shops near you where you could hand your laptop in?

I don't know if I still have a guarantee on it since the shop where I bought it from no longer exists. I bought it late 2015, could have expired too hmm.

I did try powering it down and checking the display drivers and I can't discern a software thing so I think it's really a hardware issue this time, because yesterday it was completely fine etc.

No shops nearby that I know of. Could be one near my workplace according to Google so I'll probably bring it in tomorrow to see if that shop still exists. I really don't want to ask my father for help to drive me to the service centers in the industrial areas because he'll blame me for not taking care of my laptop.

Hmm... Where I live we usually have 2 years, so I guess that should be fine, hugs. Hope that they can fix it easyly.

Meh - Electronics get broken. That's definitly not your fault... Could you take a taxi/uber or something to get to the industrial areas in case the shop doesn't exist any longer?

Hope it can be fixed too the tint is really obvious and when I switch windows or tabs or applications, there's a faint, pink afterimage of my desktop or background applications "burned in". I really hope it isn't the entire LCD screen failing.

Embarrassing but I'm scared to take taxi or uber or such services. I think because I've read too many stories of being kidnapped in those lol.

My dad always says my hands are dirty and I don't clean my stuff because I'm a dirty person who doesn't take care of possessions. I'm just lazy.

I think they reset laptops to factory settings anyway, before they do anything else. Not sure though - what about saving your data somewhere and then deleting them on your laptop?

Hihi. I once took a taxi late at night because I was alone and wouldn't have gotten home otherwise. I was scared to death

Hugs... sorry your dad is so cruel. I don't know you irl, but I doubt strongly that he's right.

I got to stop being lazy and buy a new external hard disk Having some tech problems backing my stuff up, eek.

Either my external hard disk is failing (worrying red light, and some warning about catastrophic failure when I try to create a new folder)...

Or my laptop hard disk has a problem (error saying can't read from source file or disk)...

o_O

Ughh... my dad will be so annoyed if I ask for help now lol.
