You may suggest it - thanks! It's been a while since I've done short stories. I don't know why I don't read them more; I quite like them.

<3 Persepolis

She wrote a cute short one too, Embroidery. I know I would love Gaiman but it was the ex's favorite and he kept going on about him and just, no.

It was a pretty intense culling process to get down to one shelf of books and one shelf of music. I only had a few minutes to do it and I think I made some mistakes... So yeah, the lowbrow stuff has hopefully been cherished by another book lover by now.

Pretty amazing eh? I have discovered that there really is a cushion for everyone.

You can also get it on a mug, towel, shower curtain, phone case...

Specifically, no idea - it was a power often attributed to god-kings like the Pharaohs. It comes up in Far Eastern myth too.

CE has mad Google skillz, he might be able to track something more down.

When I think of heaven
Deliver me in a black-winged bird
I think of flying down into a sea of pens and feathers
And all other instruments of faith and sex and God
In the belly of a black-winged bird
Don't try to feed me
'Cause I've been here before and I deserve a little more
I belong in the service of the Queen
I belong anywhere but in between
She's been crying, I've been thinking
And I am the rain king
I said mama, mama, mama
Why am I so alone?
I can't go outside, I'm scared, I might not make it home
But I'm alive, but I'm sinking in
If there's anyone home at your place
Why don't you invite me in?
Don't try to bleed me
'Cause I've been there before and I deserve a little more
I belong in the service of the Queen
I belong…

I took a Tolstoy and a Dostoevsky class in college--I was an English major, and for some weird reason, we were limited as to how many English classes we could take. But those were under "Foreign Languages and Literature," so they were OK to take. I had a weird fascination with "The Idiot" and considered trying to write a modern version of it--think I got through a chapter or two. Love Crime and Punishment, though it ties into a traumatic moment in my past (involving a debate between ordinary and extraordinary people), so it's kind of weird for me...

Has the "...but don't know how" thing always been a part of the dear T thread title? Because that isn't really what I use it for

Other suitable endings, for me:
Dear T, there's something I want to tell you...

...but it's really dumb
...but only in pretend, I don't want to tell you this irl
...but I'm not ready quite yet
...but I can't right now because it isn't session time at this exact moment, which is the only time that I can communicate with you
...and I'm typing this here to keep track of it until I can talk to you in person, since I'm so forgetful

Etc.....

Hey, una...can you help me with this NYT Sunday crossword clue?

"Gosling of 'La-La Land'"

I just can't remember his first name. Only that he cracks your ankles and flexes the points of his triceps for you.

Thanks for this!

Late night announcement:

YES YES YES YES GUESS WHO SAVED 15% OR MORE BY... etc etc

-what I owe yearly for car insurance was reduced by 60%
-there is a god
-I can both own a car and eat food now and still not-quite-afford therapy, too
-currently coming to terms with the fact that I stayed up til 3am to do this... um, well good news for M in the morning anyway?
-whaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttt how are these variations in rates ok, at all? for an identical plan?
-daydreaming (well, nightdreaming) about how cheap this plan would have been before I got the accident on my record, wow

But I also need to go to sleep, because I'm seeing people floating in and out of my door. At least I know they're a figment of my exhaustion.

3 am courage...managed to get the temporary guts up to kick future ex off one of our shared accounts.

And now I'm waiting for a blast of rage to come from wherever he is now. Cause they send an email to him too.

Eta: and I can already hear him now, "things were just starting to go better, I finally had a little hope, when you had to go and do this. Now everything's **** again."
