Couch 143: The Mr. Rogers Love Transformation

Ok, so I must not have had enough beer yet.. because synapses are firing and they came up with 1+1 = on the run = more than a week break from T.

Day 1 down. 7 to go. A few minor catastrophes not my fault. This is happening. I've never even attempted anything remotely this big before. 57 performances and 15 lectures in one week.

I heard a couple productions folks commenting on how much smoother things were going this year than last year. That is very good to hear.... all I can notice is the stuff I'm forgetting or struggling with or completing late.

My colleague and I planning out where in the temporary office we can stash some scotch without the student interns finding it.......

Been busy. Been a while. Missed a lot of the couch. Read a but of it. Looks like I missed cats with flamingos talk and left/right brain talk. I tool 2 of those tests, one put me as 54% left, another as 80% left. Heh. Guess I am left. Then again I was a math major in college with a minor in Physics. But I was also a music major for a while and got a minor in music, so maybe the test that put me more in the middle is better. Eh. Just took them for fun anyways, I could really care less.

I didn't get a chance to read all of what I missed, but I did see that anais asked about me. Thanks.

I am still trying to change my living arrangements. I got my paperwork in for public housing, now on a wait list. That could take forever. I may try googling for roommate finder sites (hey they have love finder sites, why not roommate). Landlady said today that she is trying to rent out the other room and if she does, my rent would only go up to $500...still an increase, but doable. Hoping she finds someone. Even if she does, I am still looking to move out though. I just can't handle it here anymore.

Got a real winner of a professor in my master's course for the course that is half over now. She still has yet to grade assignments that we due during the first week of class. Not even participation which is just seeing if we posted enough to meet university requirements. A little annoyed as I would like to know how I am doing in the class. I hate the unknown. I am starting to believe that she is setting me up to fail by not giving me feedback and letting me do everything wrong so I don't know what needs corrected before the next assignment is due (we have had to turn in 6 assignments so far and none have been graded...we have 2 more due tomorrow). Geeze. I understand that it takes time, but it shouldn't take this long.

I have a bad learning team this class too. The people are so set on communicating through email rather then the classroom team forum. I stated I am not comfortable with this as I want the professor to be able to see that we are collaborating and to be a witness if any issues arise. University policy states that in order to communicate outside the classroom, everyone on the team must be in agreement. I remind the team of this and they tell me I am being unreasonable not wanting to use email. Umm.... NO! I know they are probably using email with each other anyways and leaving me out of it as nothing has been said in the classroom team forum in a couple of days and we have an assignment due Sunday. They are probably talking about me to each other too.

Oh shoot. I just realized I never took my evening meds. Well it is almost 2am now, so a little too late. I should probably be getting to bed. I have to be at CVS tomorrow at 8:30am. I need to sleep at least a little bit. Off to bed. Will be back tomorrow after CVS. I work all day.

It's interesting how little sleep some people live on. No wonder they have nothing to give the next day. (that's just my own pet peeve with someone, not here on PC)

I envy people like that. My son once had a zany professor who only needed 2 to 3 hours a night. Might be nice to have a certain degree of permanent mania.

I mean, if I could actually get myself to go to sleep by 10, and wake up by 7:30 would be "ideal" for me, and that is 9.5 hours! Clearly, that never happens. I was out all of last week, so I just went to bed when I felt like it, and woke up when I did as well.

It was partially recovery from a procedure, and mostly a LOT of sleep!

I am a night owl, but...I just need a ton of sleep, and I am not young either.

I'm glad you checked in, Squirrel. You've been on my mind. I hope that your landlady finds another renter, but it's also good that you're now on a waitlist for housing. My recommendation? Even if you don't have to move out right now, stay on the waitlist. Those waits can be long, and it may come in handy whenever your name comes up.

I did my Bachelors degree online, and working in groups was always the worst. I'd email your professor and let them know what's going on. At least there will be record of you reaching out if anything hits the fan.

I wish sometimes that I needed less sleep. If I don't get at least 7, then I am so grouchy the next day. It actually became a running joke with my 1st period this past year. "Mrs. Daisy has coffee, guys! She probably didn't sleep last night."

But yeah, I agree. We should sleep. The world would be a better place.

My landlord stopped by yesterday and asked me when my roommates are leaving
I said idk. How come?

She said she wants to renovate my house. Connect it to the city sewer line (I am just outside city limit) and lift the house up. Add more rooms. Paint etc.

She also said her daughter (her daughter is the homeowner but her parents manage the property currently) wants to SELL THE HOUSE in about a year to a year and a half

Mr. Bagheera just brought me a gift. Slightly problematic as it was a bird and it was flying all over. I'm pretty sure I had a heart attack. D's boyfriend is The Man again, took birdy back outside. I'm really just done.

Is telling someone "stop talking" disrespectful? Just wondering...I mean, I know it's not quite on the level of "shut up," but it's still bothering me...looking for a reality check here.

I think it depends on the tone and how many times before you have asked them.

This morning my aim is to be dressed before 10 am and write that letter to my T. Writing the letter was my main aim yesterday too.
