Having been unsuccessful in getting my D out of the house to her T appt, they are doing a home visit. I haven't told her yet as I didn't want to stress her out, I was thinking of telling her about 10 mins before they arrived Gives her enough time to get used to the idea but not enough time to concoct a reason to avoid it.

Well we had GI/urinary week and then I'm afraid I started migraine week... sorry about that... but I guess this week is toe week.

Last night just before a bunch of big proper thunderstorms rolled through, the base of my big toe swelled up to the point that I couldn't walk for a while. My ankle and the rest of my toes were cramping up from the pressure too. The storms cleared out but today there is definitely still some residual yowch.

It is a good thing I am leaving for CA in less than 48 hours. I am at wit's end with my mother.

And I know I shouldn't be - at least some of what is irritating me is probably manifestations of early dementia.

But I can't stand the avoidant banal conversations - I could find a stranger on the street and have a deeper, more meaningful conversation with them than I can with my mother.

It's not illegal here to drive without shoes - in fact I drive without shoes to help me stay grounded whilst driving. Get home? take shoes off. Get into DM's office? take shoes off. Get to my office? take shoes off. I hardly wear shoes except on public surfaces (blech). I also have quite the shoe addiction/collection but.... would rather be barefoot.

First - I finally can return to my couch making duties!

Second - I find it impossible to function sans heels. Also, kitten heels are more difficult to walk in then say a 2.5" - 3" heel.

Third - I don't drive in heels because it ruins the back of the heel - and also pokes a hole in the mat since I wear them so much!

My sister however rocks heels and a 5 speed like no other (however, you do fear for your life as her passenger no matter what shoe she is wearing).

DM chuckeld and shook her head and asked me if I was the one who got ready this morning.... She's too understanding sometimes. She asked if I had a similar pair of shoes at home if these were limited edition. It was an okay session. We are going to go down to 2x a week sessions starting in August, I'm actually looking forward to it which... isn't how I thought I would feel about it a couple of months ago. Progress is weird.

I always hated wearing heels because I'm so huge, I would tower over coworkers and clients and feel like a giant. I did have quite the collection because they're so pretty!! Now my knees and back won't let me wear them, sneakers and sandals only. I wasted my youth being self-conscious!

That and "How are you?" are my most loathed phrases in the english language.

I'm trying to decide whether to go swim or not. Wonder what happened to the new decisive me? ha. Maybe one has to become decisive in steps... I decided to go back to school and to end with t, and now my brain needs to rest up before it makes more decisions
