I agree that Sammies are all about the bread!

Seems like I missed a lively couch today.

I do not cut my sandwiches. Ever.

((Art))

I'm exhausted, but very glad that I decided to go to today's training. It was incredibly informative, and way more fun that I had some people from my school there.

The trainer was demonstrating this teaching technique, and I was the student that got called out for being "the one genius in your class who could probably learn without you."

It made me feel good.

Perhaps it is the difference in people who called the bread layered with other foods something other than sandwich.

I like bread -but if that is the case -just eat the bread. A sandwich for me should be a proportional experience with no one ingredient overwhelming or overshadowing any other. Otherwise simply don't put the ingredients in a sandwich format.
I also particularly dislike when ingredients ooze out of the sandwich or squirt out of the end.

Oh for Pete's sake. I'm so distracted I forgot to stop working at 3:30 when I was supposed to. I was stupidly still taking calls til 3:50 not even noticing. Jeez!

So...your philosophy of sandwiches is the same as your philosophy of Oreos?

I gorged myself on cucumber and avocado sushi rolls for dinner, thanks to anais's delicious sounding meal last night!

And I was so moved by our discussion that I had pb&j

But it was on that Israeli pita, so half vs diagonal was irrelevant

(for the curious: creamy peanut butter and raspberry jam. Really any jam is ok except strawberry, which is just as heinous and evil as crunchy peanut butter)

Now there's an interesting conversation. I grew up on creamy peanut butter, but I converted to chunky a couple of years ago. I wonder if I'm in the majority or minority.

I go back and forth. I eat creamy 90% of the time, but every once in a while I want to buy a jar of crunchy.

That's interesting, I swore by crunchy growing up but around college I bridged the divide to creamy. Maybe because I was in a cooking co-op and that's all we had?

I still have half a pita... do I save it for breakfast, make another pbj, or kick it old school and eat it with hummus and tahini?

Mine was a job I had a couple years ago. The boy I was working with was obsessed with PB&J, and I usually made one for myself when he asked for one. They were a strictly crunchy household.

Growing up there were a mix of preferences and we always had a jar of each. One of the only things my parents did right.

But I remember one day in second grade, my teacher made my lunch for me. It was the best lunch of my life. The perfect lunch... there were carrots/dip, apple slices, a handful of Rolos (wow, dessert???!??!!!) and then the Holy Grail- a pb&j sandwich with grape jelly and creamy pb on BOTH SIDES, which was an unheard of luxury and I've refused to have it any other way ever since.

Best.Lunch.Of.My.Life.
It makes me emotional just thinking about it

My shoes of choice for my adventure. I usually bring several shoes but I challenged myself to only bring one bag. Considering makeup, haircare, face care, clothes, shoes, and accessories I usually bring it was quite the challenge The Couch 147: Maximum Break!

Cinderella shoes!
And you have a small foot. (Erm, well, probably feet, not just one!)
ETA: Packing causes me EXTREME anxiety.

Posting because there's some dumb glitch where it won't load page 70 of the ******* couch. Maybe posting will help. Probably not.

hey couch. can you handle more of my t saga? i've thought about it all day and I just emailed her back and said that i am out, and i requested a session in a month to say goodbye. I don't know if I will get a response this evening or not. I hope so. It will suck if I have to wait until tomorrow. I told her that is what I was trying to do anyway, be done/out. But that I had previously failed to tell her that I needed her to help me leave because I didn't really realize that until today. I don't know what she is going to say to this. I just don't. I feel like I have made such a mess of things just by sharing my feelings in an email. that's all i did. she took it to mean i wanted to not take the break. but i didn't say that. i said i wanted to share an observation and i did and i ended by saying see you in 4 weeks. as we'd scheduled. she chose to hear something else. Leave it to me to crash and burn the only helpful therapeutic relationship I've ever had. Sorry for carrying on so much a bout this couchies.

Those look perfect. Like all you'd have to do to get back is click your heels three times and say, "Theres no place like the couch..."
