I'm trying to sleep but my sister just texted me, she's upset and needs an ear. She and her husband are going to divorce, after 16 years. I'm mad at both of them. They're my two oldest children. I'm sleepy!

I am fighting this stupid irrational feeling that t abandoned me. It's sooooo stupid. T and his daughter are in another country helping out a church. And I am over here being whiny about it.

So I've been thinking this whole time that burlesque had only one meaning, a pg-13 one (at minimum). I've had to google it now and sure enough I was misinformed.

The Burlesque movement of Shostakovich's A minor violin concerto makes so much more sense to me now. Not to say that Shostakovich isn't sexy or anything, because damn.

and in poetry, it is a poem that treats a serious subject in a humorous way.
