I was supposed to see my T yesterday (Friday) at 5.30. Our normal routine is that I wait in the car outside his house and he opens the door which is when I get out and go in (mainly because I hate waiting on the doorstep)

Arrived as normal, no sign of him. Waiting 10/15 mins, no sign. Drove down the road then texted him. He has done this once a long time ago, where it turned out he'd fallen asleep (!) He rang me within half an hour of my appt time that time, was extremely apologetic and it was just one of those things, we quickly resolved it at the next session.

I haven't heard from him. I texted him at 9pm again yesterday saying I was worried I hadn't heard from him. He hasn't read the 2 text messages yet (my phone shows up read receipts).

I am starting to get quite worried that something's happened to him. Very worried actually. this is VERY unlike him. If I text him normally I usually get a reply within a couple of minutes unless he's with another client. For him to not reply to me for well over a day (or even read the texts) is really out of the normal for him.

He knew I had an appointment yesterday, I emailed him last Tuesday and he replied "See you on Friday". The only thing I can think of is that he's gone away for the weekend but forgot to cancel me.

I'm just really worried now. Help me to keep calm please!!

I think one time I got locked out of the office and was sitting in the parking lot and she never saw me... I had to sit at the door until the next patient let me in... I sat on the couch and waited patiently... She was surprised and we both apologized and I finally got the lock combination so I could come in and be on time.... sometimes we make mistakes...he may have fallen asleep...they forget things....they mess up...they get burned out and need a vacation... he forgot to put it on the calendar.... Who knows what happened? At least you can find out the mystery later... just practice some calmness techniques if you can... I end up using apps on my phone and using biofeedback on my tense body... I don't know your techniques.... just wanted to let you know that I have been through this before and it's ok...not everyone has a vampire Slayer movie with unicorns in the parking lot...try to laugh at it

Oooooh that sounds super anxious-making.

Something that I find soothing 9/10 times is doing a guided meditation. If you have a smartphone, there are a gazillion of them on a free app called Insight Timer. I also really like the guided meditations from the Mindful Self-Compassion group, which you can download for free (http://self-compassion.org/category/exercises/).

Ooh yep that sounds super anxiety producing. I would not be able to keep from worrying about all sorts of possibilities either. I hope you hear from him really really soon.

Very odd. I would think even if he went out of town, he would have read your text messages. You can always call the police and ask them to do a wellness check on your t.

I want to be soothing, but this would really worry me as well. So, I will just sit with you as you worry and wait. I do suggest calling at this point if you can. If it goes straight to voicemail, you know the phone is off -- which could just mean it broke or something.

Don't worry I'm not planning on phoning the police! He is married so if something happened to him his wife would I'm sure look after him!

Still no word though...

I'm going on the assumption that he's switched off his phone and has gone on a weekend away. If I don't hear from him tomorrow though I will be worrying even more!

I would wait until the weekend is over and then give him a phone call. If it goes to voicemail, I would leave a message that I hope everything is okay with him and I'm calling to reschedule the missed appointment, please send me a message or call back if possible.
Thanks for this!

Still not heard from him..

I rang his phone today, it rang but then went to answerphone. I don't want to bombard him with messages as it's a bit over-board, but I am getting more worried now that something's happened. I'm still trying to reason with myself that he's just gone on a long weekend away or something though!

I know curiosity is killing me and we all want to know what happened...but hopefully he is just gone for the weekend. It seems like a mistake right now. I just love it when I am sitting in the parking lot and she is looking right at me and can't see me to let me in to get therapy. I know this really stinks that he forgot or whatever happened and stood you up. I hope the best for you. Just go have some fun or something interesting to kill some time. Lol.

Keeping myself busy with work etc, but I have a deep knot of anxiety about this. I'm starting to think something bad has happened. I just want to know now.

I feel the suspense... Sometimes we can knock on the door...if nothing happens and people are inside...then I would be interested to know what is going on... hopefully all is well.... Just hang in there, silver. ((Hugs)) :-)

Do you have another appointment scheduled? If you meet him at his house, maybe you will get an answer from somebody else who lives there (like his wife) if you go up to the door and knock at your next scheduled appointment time.
Thanks for this!
