Yeah, I normally see him every Friday at 5.30 - so I'm thinking I will probably turn up as usual this Friday and see what happens!

You seem to be handling this extraordinarily well. I hope he's there tomorrow.

It'll be a week tomorrow. Still nothing *sigh*. My hope at the moment is that he went away for a whole week instead of a weekend and he'll be back tomorrow...

I don't think I'm going to go over there tomorrow. For one if something HAS happened, the last thing his wife needs is a client turning up. And if nothing's happened and he's fine, then hopefully if I no show it will make him think "Oh, where's Silver"? and then contact me!!

I think you have a right to know if something has happened (illness, etc). I can't imagine being in the situation you're in. My T and I have talked about what would happen if she died suddenly, and she said she has a plan in place that would involve me being contacted by one of her psychologist colleagues who would help coordinate continuing care. I don't think you have to pretend that you aren't concerned for your T's welfare by not showing up for your appointment. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I hope your T just spaced about last Friday's appointment and you are in his office this Friday being super annoyed with him for worrying you.
Thanks for this!

There is nothing wrong with going to the appointment. It's his problem not yours.

I would still try going to the appointment. I mean, it could be that he lost his cell phone or dropped it in the water and can't get your messages. Can you try calling him again?
Thanks for this!

That suggests to me that something is wrong with his phone, if the text isn't even being delivered and it goes right to VM. So it might be his phone, not your T, that's the issue.

I just phoned another number that I found on his website (his house phone rather than mobile). Spoke to his wife.

He's had a cardiac arrest. He's in ITU.

Oh, how awful! I hope he's OK. I'm glad you found out what was going on at least... I'm guessing with his phone, maybe the battery died and with everything happening, charging it was the last thing on anyone's mind...
Thanks for this!

I'm so sorry to hear about your therapist, and for the stress you've been under this week, not knowing what happened. Lots of good thoughts for you, and for him and his family... sorry that you had to go through this.
Thanks for this!

Silverleaf I am glad you finally found a way to find out what was going on and so sorry that this is happening for you. It did feel like there was something more serious behind this situation.
How are you feeling and where do you go from here?
Thanks for this!

Oh God, this is like my worst nightmare. You handled it so well. (I would have lost it if my T missed an appointment and then didn't respond to texts/answer his phone.)

I hope you are okay and your T recovers soon. Please feel free to PM me if you need to talk.
Thanks for this!

Hi there,

I posted a response, but it hasn't shown up. (Sorry if I'm double posting, still new to this forum.)

I just wanted to let you know you have all of my sympathy. What happened to you is literally my worst nightmare. And you handled it really well. I would have lost it if my T missed an appointment and didn't respond to texts or answer his phone.

PM me if you need to talk. I think one of the worst things about dealing with a therapist's illness (or, God forbid, death) is the fact that you have to do it alone.
